Not happy with results from Meg's GC Leather Wipes

I used the wipes on my 2006 RSX's tan interior last night. The two wipes that I used were sopping wet with the liquid when I pulled them out so I squeezed some of it out. I got all leather surfaces of the interior lightly damp with the wipes and went back around and buffed it off with a small MF towel.

This morning, I noticed two things - the surfaces are now extremely slick, and many of the surfaces are streaky. Not sure if I will use these again, but how should I go about fixing these issues? Would a lightly damp MF do the trick (plain water)? How about the Meg's Quik Interior Detail wipes, would those help?

I've been reading a lot of good things about Lexol - is this available OTC (Target, Walmart, etc)?

Thanks for your help!

i had similar results when i tried them :(

i just wipe down with a mf towel and some woolite mixed 6:1 with water....you can find woolite in the laundry soap section at any store

i used Megs one step leather cleaner on my wifes 04 monte ss. for the first and last time a while ago. the seats hava a bunch of (factory breather) holes in them. when i tried to remove or wipe off the product it just pushed it into the holes and dried as car wax does. you know how long that took to "toothpick" all that out? may of been a bad bottle but i dont even want to atempt it again, they have like a googlebillion holes in those seats. so went and got Black Magic 2-in-one leather care in a spray bottle. there shurly are better out there but for otc, i love it and it works very good. not greesy, not slick, kinda smells (not for too long though), and easily wipes off. not too much leather comes my way but a like 98" lincoln mark lll an the monte are two dif leathers (i'd think) and a+ on both.

I am not a big fan of wipes.

To clean leather, I use Woolite 6:1 with water.

To condition & protect, I use Pinnacle Leather conditioner. However, if I were to buy something OTC I'd probably just go with a bottle of Meg's. You can use wax applicator pads to apply it and then buff it with a MF towel. The Pinnacle stuff is nice because I can apply it with my bare (clean) hands. It's somewhat expesive, but it's also great stuff.

I like the Woolite solution for leather cleaning too, but most of the time it's not necessary on well-kept seats.

For an OTC leather conditioner, stick with the Turtle Wax Leather Cleaner/Conditioner (in the tan spray bottle) at Target or Pepboys. It doesn't make the seats slick or tacky, just a little softer. And to pwrstrk02--Scottwax says the TW stuff doesn't leave residue in holes of ventilated seats.

I have used Lexol (which is available OTC at Target and Pepboys) but I found that it leaves a very TACKY and STICKY surface. Plus, it smells awful.

Most of the megs GC leather products are inconsistent in my opinion.. if you do want to use a megs product, their GC Leather Foam is the best of the line (and can also be used with perf seats since it turns clear when you work it in).

Lots more good tips - keep them coming if anyone else has anything to add! I think I will give the Woolite a shot to get the streaks out. I did try the Meg's interior wipes, but as I suspected, they didn't touch the streaks.
