Yesterday was Spark Plug Monday. I installed new plugs, new plug wires, cleaned the mass air flow sensor and cleaned the throttle body.
Today is Waxoyl Tuesday. I sprayed over 5 litres under the 4Runner, inside the frame rails, behind the bumpers and in all the nooks and crannies. I have Eastwood Black on order, per Accumulator's suggestion, for use on the outside of the frame rails and other 'beauty' parts. Should get that this week then back under for more not-so-clean fun.

Brad B.- I'm guessing you had it up on the lift for the Waxoyling, that's one time *really* miss having one as doing it on ones back isn't exactly fun.
Yikes, you don't wear rubber gloves when spraying that stuff?!?
So cleaning the throttlebody was sufficient? No nasty deposits or other issues?

I used some of the Eastwood undercoating on the Cadillac last fall. It matched the worn away spot in the OE perfectly!
Even a vehicle that was so babied really could use the Waxoyl any way, huh?

Actually I just slid around on the floor underneath it. I've never owned anything "tall" and I am loving it. I KNEW someone would say something about gloves. 
LOL! Yes, I was wearing them, then I took them off to answer the phone and forgot. In about 30 seconds I was a mess. 
The throttle body had a pretty good film build-up on it in places but the spray emulsified it immediately and I just poured it out.
This 4Runner is pretty fun. Sort of low-tech (and low cost) compared to my other toys. Diggin it!

I wasn't going to but the condition of this truck continues to surprise me. I have been on Toyota 4Runner websites (Two months ago I didn't know they existed.) and have seen the condition of many of the trucks people have. Mine looks like it arrived in a time capsule compared to most!
So I figured why not. I have tons of the Waxoyl in the basement and nothing besides the BMW '02tii that I use it for.

Ya know, I almost went for a 4Runner last autumn, but I couldn't find a rust-free one before stumbling across the beater-Tahoe (which I fell in love with for the same low-tech/old styling kind of reasons). IIRC, they are a bit sensitive to wheel balance and tire selection but other than that it oughta be one seriously trouble-free vehicle.
Did you pull the door panels and spray down inside there? I'm thinking about the folded/welded bottom where the drain holes are...

Automotive International was the Waxoyl North American distributor until the early 90's.
Won't say too much about why they dropped it, except that Waxoyl did some unethical things with products, etc and still owes AI over $3 million dollars in damages.
AI went to work and created a superior set of products, rust preventative, undercoat, etc. and market them as ValuGard around the world.
That's just a bit of information for all.
AI makes under private label these products for Ford and Chrysler, as well as are the only products that Hyundia, Kia, Mazda, etc require for warranty and non-warranty repairs.
You can order these products direct from ValuGard, quality application guns or both are available in areosol form.
When I was traveling the world for AI and in other countries where Waxoyl touted that they were the "chosen/selected" products for many vehicle manufacturers, found that was not true.
Guess getting one's hands on some letter head stationary allows a lot of "marketing latitude"?

Ron Ketcham- I wish AI/VG sold a black pigmented version, that's about my only criticism of it. And/or a thinner version in spray cans similar to the Eastwood Frame Protection stuff (yeah, I know..."just thin out the bulk version").

Won't happen, if they did, the area treated could not be checked with a black light that insures coverage.
Black light makes the product glow where it is, so easy to check application.

This is a good product. However the I-Car link is not current, they made some upgrades to products to be used last fall or early this spring, not sure just when since I am no longer in the food chain.
Corossion protection has become even more important than in years past due to the use of mag cloride to melt snow, ice, keep dust down on gravel roads etc.
This stuff is really much more agressive in promoting corossion that the old rock salt, calcium cloride, etc that have been applied on roads.

The underside has come out pretty well. It feels all buttoned up and sealed, anyway. I have Rustoleum on the frame, black Waxoyl filling all interior pockets and frame members, and Eastwoods on the outside. I plan to cover the final underbody sheet metal with clear Waxoyl.
Finished up all my engine and drivetrain tune-up as well and as I was going I disassembled and cleaned parts I touched. The engine bay is looking better. Not done yet but take a look. Haven't applied any gloss enhancing protectants yet. Will do that when I am finished. I got rid of 123k miles worth of dust and grunge.
I also pulled the interior fan and cleaned the cage. Feels much fresher now!

Brad B.- So you already got and used the Eastwood's stuff? What do you think of it? I've been hoping I didn't steer you wrong, you know how it can go with different people having different opinions about such stuff.

I did. I was anxious to see how it worked. I love that the finish is so flat and smooth and has a satin finish. My frame basically looked like it was just painted with satin black. Awesome. In fact, after it dried I had to touch it to be sure it just wasn't my paint showing through!
Today I applied a final coat of Waxoyl clear to the ancillary mechanicals and brake lines, hoses, etc. just to ward off any corrosion. Why not!
This thing is ready to forge streams and blast through snow. In reality the biggest threat is a pothole in the supermarket parking lot....BUT I'M READY JUST IN CASE!
