Not for the money, just for the pure passion and pleasure. HD Speed Clean up

I will state from the outset that this was not really a correction, just a good opportunity to do a good deed for another by cleaning up a car and playing with some products.

I don’t have a lot of pics for this as it was never my intention to post it, however by the end I felt I had to share.

Besides it shows how well HD Speed works ;) :thumb:

I have been meaning to do something with this car for a little while now and like most time just seems to get away from me. One of my neighbours is a lovely elderly couple that have had a bad run with health issues for a while now. They often comment on how good my car looks and how they wish they were still able to look after their own.

And being that it is the season of giving I decided to do a little giving of my own.

On the rouse of borrowing their car, I took the keys and the car at got to work.

This was also a good opportunity to get my kids involved as well.

Products.

3D Yellow degreaser. Spray down wheels, tyres, rockers, grill etc

Clay Magic blue

HD Total, Door jams, interior

HD Protect, interior

HD Speed, Orange pad

HD Poxy, just because I can

As you can see the car is a lot worse for wear and very neglected, the oxidation was severe and the only panel that had been clear coated was pink.

After a quick wash, clean and clay I did a couple of test sections

And done

HD Speed performed flawlessly, cleaned up the oxidation and removed the swirls without even breaking a sweat. As expected it did have a hard time with the scratches and RIDS however it was never my intention to try and remove these anyway.

If it wasn’t for the fact I wanted to maintain the finish for as log and I could I would have been more than happy to not use Poxy over the top

Although removing the oxidation suddenly displayed all of the deeper scratches and rids, the gloss helps to draw your attention away from them, that and the dramatic transformation.

Now those that know me will agree that I am far from an emotional guy, however even I was moved when by the reaction of the owners after returning the car. They were ecstatic and couldn’t believe it was the same car.

At the end of the day this is why I do it, not for money or anything else more than the passion and enjoyment I get from restoring a finish to how it should be.

Enjoy
