Norton liquid abrasives

I'm just a man.
Well all norton's products are completely water saluable. So yeah. Just hose it off then either do a quick was or just dry it. It's still a ton easier to clean up than most coupounds and you don't have to dig it out of cracks beucase it just gets washed away.
 
Yeah really, where would I pick up some of that stuff. How about some reviews of the different products?

I like everyone else here put results as no1 on the priority list. If i could get better results with other prouducts i would through it out. Norton liquid abrasives are not new. They have been around for years. You can get that from most serious body shop supliers like Finishmaster. Norton sells many other products as well. They have great painting tape masking paper and plastic, as well as wet dry paper, abrasives and the afformetiond liquid abrasives. The liquid abrasives are "compounds" that contains no silicone or silica. It's bodyshop safe and safe for the user! It comes in 4 grades. 04B 03B 02B and 01B. 04B is one of the harshest compounds i've ever used! It cuts almost like 2000 grit sandpaper. 03B is on parr with 34 PI III fast cut or megs dimond cut. 02B leaves a finnish like 3m PI III machine glaze, but it will cut more than it as well. 01B i have almost no experince with. It has micro abrasives and a small amount of acrilyc protection. The product is rather unique as far as an abrasive goes. Talk about a diminshing abrasive! You have to work this stuff till the cows come home it seems sometimes. You have to use VERY little product to make it efficent as far as time goes. After practice i've gotten to be just as fast as other compounds though. The way it is used is you spray down the pannel your buffing with water. Then you aply a nickle sized drop of abrasive and go to town. If it stops working you get more water! not compound. Eventualy all the compound is fully diminshed and you need more. A half dollar sized drop is good enough to do a full hood and a fender posibly both! They have nice pads too. There lamswool pad is unique to any pad i've used. It cuts like a normal wool pad but doesn't shed at all and it leaves a smoother finnish than normal wool. There foam polishing pad is REALLY soft and is fabulous for fine finnishing with 02B. I suggest trying it. I love the stuff.
 
LOL i know what you mean. I wanna try poorboy's ssr line but i have more than enough 3M and Norton to last me a couple years.
 
I might buy into this Norton line instead of the Megs line. That water soluable setup sounds great! Means I could skip masking off the big areas (just mask trim and around windows)
 
True, I might like the Megs more. Then again, I may never go away from the full PB SSR setup I have right now. But that water soluble part is almost too good.
 
Smells unipe. Pretty good though. I'm terrible with smells but i'd say a cross between cinomin and mint?
