Noobie - be gentle!

Not new to detailing my car, but new to the wonders of the pc7424 and products from the likes of Poorboy's, Clearkote, Klasse, P21S, etc. Like every Joe out there I was using Meguiars by hand for years, but after my car was features in magazines I knew I could make it look alot better, then '182blue' came along and showed pics of what the PC did to the black Golf - wow!

So I ordered a raft of stuff from Autopia and Alex at Serious Performance - threw out all my old stuff ... and here I am!

Hasn't taken me long at all to be comfortable using the PC, I read the giude and watched some vids on how to use them. Although my paint looked pretty good, I could see quite lot of fine surface scratches, so today I began and did the following:

1. Washed with Zymol auto wash then dried off.

2. PB SSR2 with green Sonus DAS pad.

3. Klasse AIO with blue pad.

4. Sonus DAS buffing bonnet on orange pad for buffing.

5. Megs supreme shine MF for final wipe.

6. PB bold'n'bright tyre dressing.

So far I am very happy with the results, most paint defects are gone (including two bird cr*p spots that had etched into the clear coat) and the clarity and depth of shine are awesome, the paint looks SO clean. I will be using the Klasse SG to top the AIO and I have Sonus acrylic glanz too. Here's some pics from today:

Finally arty one of the reflections on the roof, I flipped the top half of the pic down so you can see them better:

Welcome to Autopia !!! This site is very user friendly, there is almost no controversy, everyone asks and gets along. No one calls anyone any names cause the like xyz and not abc. Car looks great, I just wish I could see a little more of it, ie full shot. I'd say you're are way past being a noobie or beginner to detailing. I wish I could figure out the roof reflection.

Hehe - the roof reflection is a good one eh! I actually copied the top half of the image and flipped it down to the bottom, just so you could see the reflections the right way up!

Nice car, looks fantastic.

I did almost the exact same treatment over the weekend on my car.

I love the Klasse look, and it was much easier to use than I thought it would be.

Sorry, I thought it was a Jetta.

The number of PC owners and Autopia customers is growing daily I think!

I attended the Club GTi National Day here in Scotland on Sunday, glorious weather for a change - I was so pleased as I've never had so many compliments about my car, many people asked me how I got it looking so good, the metallic blue looked very sparkly in the sun! Here's a pic:

There was another SEAT there same colour as mine - a pro photographer said the difference was like night and day between them! :D
