HI

Im a noob when it comes to cleaning my car. But lately I have started to clean it more often. So I was cleaning my hood and I noticed these spots...

I have rubbed claybar on it and it did not do anything...not sure what else I could use to remove it....

I know these pictures suck but its the best i can do

In the second picture, I got the big glob out but not the smaller ones.

I'll try to get some rubbing compound soon, but I have never used it before, any tips?

wow, id be pretty upset mero!

is it really noticeable to you sunten, i dont know if its my monitor but i can hardly see anything.

if it bothers you, you should try some SSR 3 and see what happens before you go wetsanding anything. i just wouldnt feel comfortable wetsanding if i hadnt tried any other options first.

Well I know when I walk by the car, I do notice it. No one else notices it.

Can that rubbing compound ruin my hood, if so I think I'll just live with it... haha

And plus I don't feel comfortable wet sanding my hood anyways... so thats out of the question

This is good advice...Try some SSR 3 before you go with rubbing compund.

Yea its pretty hardcore stuff, maybe you should hit it with 2.5 but if its etched in there, all i could imagine taking it out is something like ssr3.

if that doesnt work and you dont want to wetsand, i would just leave it be and try to live w/ it...

it is a compound, but if used correctly it wont do any damage.

make sure you are using the right pads, right speed, make sure your not using too much polish, make sure it breaks down completely before wiping off, etc, etc....

just the usual polish/compound steps that need to be taken to get excellent and safe results.
