No need to wax.....

To some extent yes you don't have to wax (once Zaino is applied), but you do have to wash frequently to keep the surface of the car (and Zaino) clean.

However, not many Zaino users apply infrequently because of the added benifits of layering the stuff.

My car was protected by a polymer sealant and all I had to do was wash it.

Waxing your car after you've applied any sealant is just gravy. The sealant is what is doing all the protecting and all the work. The wax is just a little extra in the appearance category. You can wax if you want that extra little zing in your car, but its definatly not going to improve the appearance on all colors when you've already got some Zaino on. I know that on sealants like Klasse the carnauba topper greatly enhances the appearance.

The Carnuba (try P21S paste wax) adds some depth. Some think that synthetics look a bit "sterile" on dark colors, and a quick layer of P21S will add the depth to dark colors, and is super easy and fast to apply.

It sounds like maybe you are confused about Zaino? It is a protectant, just like a wax (except it's a polymer and is more durable). So it's sort of like you are saying you don't need to wax after you wax. The act of putting Zaino on puts a protectant layer on the car, just like the act of putting a wax on.

It does tend to confuse some people that Zaino is called "Show Car POLISH", instead of "show car Polymer Sealant" or "show car wax"..... people think, "polish, oh well this isnt a protective product its just a polish. You have to wax over top of this..."

this infact is not at all what Zaino is or does. If anything Zaino is non abrasive.

also, if you use wax over Zaino, you cannot apply more Zaino without first removing the wax, so why bother. According to Guru Reports, one coat of Zaino lasted several months on their test panel, a lot longer than any other product they tested.

Does anybody know of a link that has the results of the guru reports wax test posted without having to subscribe to it? if so, can you please post it? Thanks.

That would sort of negate the purpose of selling the report, wouldn't it? ;) If you want the results then you are pretty much going to have to buy it. I know that it was discussed at length here right after it came out. Do a search for it and you'll see it. It was a huge thread. You may be able to get a peek of the results in there.

a couple coats of Zaino is all you need for a blinding shine. I have about 25 myself. I don't think there is much advantage to a wax coat over Zaino. I have read that the solvents in wax may accelerate the degradation of the Zaino layer(s). You also, as stated above will need to dawn wash to remove any wax before applying another coat of Zaino, as it will not properly bond to a waxed surface.
