No more squeaking wipers! Zaino worked!

This winter has been harsh on the glass of the Carrera and the wipers have been squeeking and chattering. No amount of cleaning worked so I polished them with the PC and Zaino Glass Polish. Problem solved! I will probably finish up with a coat of Rain X.

The moment I saw your thread I thought that you put Z2 or Z5 on the windshield!:shocked

:D

Whenever I had a problem with wipers chattering my first step was to clean the windshield. I have unused bottle of Rain-X glass polish I'm going to try next time.

Good tip!:xyxthumbs

What's wrong with that??;)

People have had great success using Z2 or Z5 on their windshields.:xyxthumbs

I might try it as soon as this Aquapel wears off(9 months and it's still kicking butt in this rainy Northwest!!):bow

:wavey

I use Zaino glass polish on all my windows. I prefer to use Z2 (no zfx or z1) on all the sides and rear windows, and either use that or rainX on the front. Works great! It adds to the reflectivity and overall detailed look of the car, and cleans up perfect after a car wash with just a few squirts of quick detailer.

DETAILKING - I didn't quite understand. Am I correct that you use Z12 on all the windows, and then top the Z12 with Z2 (or rainX in the front)?:nixweiss

I used to use Z2/rainx on my windows, but I think I'll try aquapel next time since my oil change place sells it and has been buggin me to get some (they know I care for my rides)

I've used AIO on my side windows but I hesitate to use it on the windshield since I think it'll start to streak, same story with Z2.

Most of windshield cleaners in the cars contain alcohol, wouldn't it start quickly removing AIO or Z2?

Yes, it would degrade AIO quickly, have less effect on Z2 but I doubt the durability of sealants during wintertime abuse in the snowbelts anyway. Wiper abrasion is pretty tough! Even glass develops wear patterns.

I'm a little more south than you are but with all the rain that we get here in Memphis this year it's better to have something on. I'm down to the last Aquapel and I guess it's back to Rain-X after that.

Yes, that is correct.....

I have used Z2/5 on the windshield with good success for a detailing of glass. Recently I used Diamondite's glass system which is made for detailing glass and my results were excellent. I used to deep clean my glass with a polish and PC but the mess that it produced always led to more work ( cleaning canvas top and washing vehicle to make sure no abrasive remained on finish). The foam clay in the glass system performed the same task without creating a mess to adjacent areas and the polymer sealant was made specifically for glass surfaces. :xyxthumbs

I made up a gallon of windshield wiper fluid from a 303 product that does not contain alcohol for the warmer months and may try AIO and the PC on my windshield this spring.

A little 303 on the wiper blades always takes care of any chattering.

Yes, I love the 303 products.

My couple-a-cents FWIW:

Have used Z2 on all outside car windows with very good results & like better than RainX; Seems to last longer (months vs. 4-6 weeks), no problem with streaks. Cleans most time well with just distilled water and newspaper. (A little more effort needed during winter, of course.)

I used AIO in December on my windshield, it worked well for about a week then degraded and started to streak. I would use a glass polish and aquapel or rain-x combo.

I plan on purchasing Z12, to compare against Pro Glass polish (C-27-Q) and Einsett Glass Polish.

Brad and Detailking, Have you guys used Auquapel? I found a whole display at the local supermarket of the STP version and it has worked GREAT. It lasts much longer than Rain X. I thought he rainx was about as good as Z-2 on the windshield. IMO Just curious. I also am interested in the z-12. Does it get rid of the small specs from sandblasting on the highway? Thanks

I haven't since it isn't available in my area. Sounds interesting! keep us posted on the durability.:up
