If you just want pics, the thread topic tells you all you need to know. Go ahead & scroll if you'd like... all the pictures were taken a week after this was done, after a wash and #34.

If you want more info, this is a follow-up to this thread. Big thanks to Accumulator for his input. :up

Here's what I did, by hand, in about six hours:

Step 1 - #00 Wash.

Step 2 - Clay with Mothers Cali Gold. Their Showtime is the best-smelling detailing product I've ever used... Mmm, cinnamon.

Step 3 - #80 Speed Glaze. Worked very well by hand. Got most of the swirls out after working it nearly-dry by terrycloth. It did leave some swirls behind, and there's a few scuffs that I didn't expect it to get by hand, but I see a PC in my future and then I'll show 'em what's what.

Step 4 - #81 Hand Polish. Great stuff. Super oily, but I guess that's the whole point. Easy-on and easy-off.

586Rear.jpg

Step 5 - #16 Pro Paste Wax. I saw the bandwagon coming and hopped right on! It was this or #26, and I've got both but I went with #16 first. Applied thinly, a panel or two at a time, then removed with no problems. And now I believe the hype - this stuff's great. It really brought out the metallic pearl in my paint and lightened up the green. Still, I plan to try #26 next time and see which look I prefer.

Windows done with Eagle One 20/20, wheels sporting Gold Class wax, tires wearing 303, front lip and window trim with Mothers Back To Black, exhaust shined with #28 All Metal Polish, maintained by #34 Final Inspection.

I'm very pleased with the results I got, and my car's never looked better...

Any comments/questions/advice for next time? Please let me know! :xyxthumbs Thanks!

Looks really nice! 80/81/insert topper of choice is one of my favorite combos.

I think that adding the PC to the #80 will really help you get better results. I find that #80 is OK by hand, but machine application is where it shines.

Your SILVIA (the original name of your car ) looks very nice!!

I drive a '92 SILVIA K's (2.0 l turbo), champagne gold. :xyxthumbs

Haha. IMO, it's only a Silvia if you bought it in Japan. No fake badges for me - mine's a 240SX and proud of it... :D Thanks for the compliments!

Turbo system's in the works, got my hands on a manifold last Friday, actually! :up T3/T04E 50-trim 0.63 A/R, should land me in the mid-200 HP range at a conservative 8 PSI.

Wow, we think alike. I just ordered some parts for the kit I am doing as well for my civic Si, its centered around.....

You guess it, a T3/T04E 50 trim .63 A/R and will be run at 8-9 PSI and net me in the 260-270 ish whp.

Why do we always apear together when #80 is mentioned? If only more people used it!

I think it's the best kept secret!

Nice work by the way :xyxthumbs

#80 by machine is wonderful. I use it with every pad depending on the results I am looking for.

At Accumulator's suggestion, I did some searching on #80 and found nothing but good things. Then I realized most of the comments were from yourself and epbcivicsi! :p

I used it anyway and I agree - it's great stuff. Can't wait to try it by PC...

Great minds.....:bow :p

I love the 240SX - Nissan needs to bring it back. The Sentra just doesn't do it for me & the 350Z is in a class by itself.

I never see 240SX's on the road & if I do they are usually beat up pretty bad.

Keep taking good care of that badboy!

Yeah the whole drift scene thing is killing them off! It's very common in the 240 Forums for new members to start "I wrecked my car last night" threads. Torquey RWD cars and inexperienced drivers trying to slide their cars on public roads is a bad combo. :(
