Before I start, let me get this off of my chest:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<ahem> ok... now for the story :doh
Last weekend I spent a little over 6 hours detailing my black Alfa Romeo Milano... I clayed the whole car, hit it the hood, roof, & trunk with Meguiars #9 with the orbital, and applied Blackfire polish and 3 coats of Blackfire protectant, plus did all the plastic, etc. Today, the car was out of the garage (garage door open) as I was prepping it for next weeks track event at California Speedway... all of my tools were out, and the windows were open. I needed something at the store, so I left everything as it was and took off for about 15 minutes. When I returned I noticed there was some water on the roof of the Milano... and the ground was all wet. I became angered because I thought someone from my family had come out and watered the plants and sprayed the car. Upon further inspection I noticed that the interior was SOAKED. The racing seat was saturated, and there was 1" of standing water on the floor (its stripped, so no carpet)... and to top it all off... my toolbox drawers were FULL of water!
Worst of all, the car was in the full sun, and by the time I got there it was covered ALL OVER with hard water mineral deposits!
Here's what happened... someone left the hose on overnight (it has a spray nosle on the end of it) and the hose had burst! Of course the hose reel was right next to the car... and EVERYTHING got soaked by a high pressure spray of water. Luckily a neighbor came over and turned the hose off before the garage floor flooded.
After almost blowing up and breaking something, I thought I'd give removing the waterspots a try... so I washed the car, clayed and clayed, and clayed, and then in a last effort I tried more Meguiars #9 on the orbital... all of which made the marks less noticable, but still definitely there!
So then to top it all off... later today as I was leaving a beach party in my WRX I was rearended by a Mexican man & his son. There isn't too much damage, but enough to really bother me. To make it all worse, they didn't have insurance... and as I got a pen to write down thier phone number (which probably would've been bogus anyway) they sped off! I did get the license plate #, and I will be driving down to the police station on monday to make a report.
Oh boy... what a day! Hopefully tomorrow will be better :shocked
