Nice Compliment Today

Sometimes I wonder if we are the crazy ones :out:

Its always humbling when someone starts going all goo goo over a car I have worked on. I actually get a bit embarrased :o

Good looking out for Moms Zack, hope you have a quick sale :)

Thanks man, me too. I know my parents really appreciate it. They live in a little town (1400 people) and they had it for sale for a while, but nobody really knows what they are looking at and after a week, if it's not sold, nobody is buying it, because everyone has seen it!

I sold their Navigator for them too, so I don't mind helping them out at all, I just really miss my R!

I agree though, we ARE the crazy ones, there is no doubt about that. We are the .01% of the population, if not less. Most people own a way to get from home to work, not me!

I don't do the crazy Ferrari details that a lot of guys do on here, I do the everyday car for the everyday driver. I put a "professional" detail on them and I could seriously put a 30 minute wash/quick detail/quick interior wipedown and these people would be just as happy.

But, my conscious won't let me do it. I do it to my standards, knowing it will never be really appreciated. Oh well, no worries, I enjoy it!

Zack,

I have been gone awhile and when I got back, I have been slammed, so I didnt get to hear anything about your blue baby - what happened? Is everything ok?
Hope it is or it turns out ok for you and yours.

Yes, it is true I also agree; the majority of people dont have an idea one what a really detailed out car looks like UNTIL they come to one of us !!!!:)

Then they are stunned, right ?? I have had more than one Client tell me -
"that is NOT my car" "Where is MY car??" "That car looks too good to be MY car!!!" :):):)

So slow as it goes, we are educating people, actually saving them a ton of money on getting new leather, paint jobs, can actually see what is going on in the engine compartment better, heck, probably helping them save a ton of money on buying a new one, because all they needed to do was clean up the old one, and they are happy all over again about it.

I had a guy tell me in Church today, that he has seen my work in my driveway all the time and he wants me to do all 5 or is it 6 of his cars, which include new Mercedes sedans, an SL, SUV's , Jeep SRT's Viper, Corvette Z06, and who knows what else... Said if they come out looking as good as some of the cars he has already seen me do, he will keep them and not have to go buy new ones again, and this will save him a boatload of money... :)

Wow, I thought to myself, I wish I had his problem!!! :):):)

So you are doing a great job and work for your family, that is very commendable of you, Zack.. I am so proud of you and of all the things you have done since you started posting here!

Keep up the great work!!

Thanks Dan! No problem with my blue car, it's just sitting in my parent's garage up in NW Missouri while I try to sell their car for them. I know I offered to do it and knew I'd be without it for a while, but I sure miss driving it.

This S80 is a wonderful car and so comfortable, but I miss those 300 ponies under my right foot!!

I'll get it sold, it's a beautiful car and it's in fantastic shape, it's just a tough time to sell a car right now, especially a Volvo that isn't Certified like all of them are at the dealer. But, we had a good prospect yesterday, we'll see how it goes.

Hey Zack, do you have all the service records and a Carhax report on this vehicle to show a prospected buyer? I know alot of ppl would rather buy from a private owner over a used car hack. Myself included :)

I took a pic and sent it to mom to show the damage done by those stupid brushed auto car washes!! But, when they saw it today in the garage and the potential buyers saw it, they thought it just rolled off the showroom floor.

Unfortunately, that IS how most cars roll off the showroom floor. :D

Yup, we have all service records, clean carfax posted on the cars.com ad, and all the original paperwork that came with the car, it's just going to take a couple people seeing it in person before someone buys it, it's perfect.

Plus $900 worth of brand new Michelins on it.

Wait til new buyers bring it back all swirled up and ask what kind of "wax" you use and charge 'em heavy for a full detail. $$
