Newest Home Depot 20% Coupon (2007)

Just an update, I was able to, without any hesitation from the cashier, use the 20% off at Home Depot themselves (and not lowes) by cutting off the right side and I had printed it in color. Was able to buy a nice work light tripod for detailing ;)

We were 2 for 3 this weekend using the coupon at HD. I used it for about $55 off a gas grille for my father in law's birthday. Then he used one on a $180 tree-trimmer. But then, on a third trip, my girlfriend tried to buy an electric stove for her mother for Mother's Day. She mistakenly went to "Super Cashier" aka "Management @ss-kisser" who made a big deal about it, called corporate and refused to accept it.

So my advice is to go to a cashier with no buttons on their smock--the younger and friendlier looking the better. Stay far away from the "Service Desk" where the management wanna-bees loiter just waiting to see who knows the most about nothing.

Heh, well a many congrats on how far you got in the first place! Home Depot is a challenge to get through compared to lowes but your tip is a god one, look for the teenagers who want to go home/stay away from managers!

thanks gmcoud27 for posting this! i was just at lowes and bought a new 100' extension cord and cord reel, and i used this 20% coupon with no problem (even though it was a black & white faded crappy copy as i need to get both new black & color cartridges). the girl even handed it to one of the supervisors and the supervisor walked back within seconds and said to ring it in as a competitor's coupon. i even had a copy of this 10% coupon just in case, if that didn't work and she encouraged me to hurry up and use this one before it expires on 05/31/06 which she would of gladly accepted, lol! http://autopia.org/forum/showthread.php?t=71655 :hifive: :bigups

if that wasn't enough ^ i went to home depot today and printed/used this coupon again to finally buy & redeem my gift certificate on the ridgid vac (wd4050) and the accessories (1-7/8") kit. with the 20% coupon i saved -17.99 and my total all together was $77.52, which would of been just about the price with tax for the vac alone! :getdown :thx

p.s. the young lady who rang me up did it with no hesitation or questions...

just to let everyone know this coupon has been altered (date) beware...someone wanted the 20% to continue and i guess he posted and it traveled to everyone...use at your own risk....

I guess I am a bit surprised that the mods have let this thread stay up. Anyone who uses this coupon is scamming Lowe's. Lowe's is trying to be accomodating and accepting it, but I hope they wise up.

To me, it's the equivalent of printing $$ on your printer and trying to pass it off as real.

Hey-here's an idea! I'll print up some 'Autopia Car Care 20% off Coupons' and we can all send them to David and try to rip him off! C'mon, who's in? Some people need to grow up...

I can agree with you too Kompressor and the intention was only trying to help; the mods here are always welcome to close the thread if they feel the same--then again this kind of brings out the morals of individuals of whether they feel this coupon is good or bad--is it scamming, not necessarily--they're still making a small profit and it's just an employee coupon; it can be seen as somewhat scamming however when you look at the actual actions taken to have the discount applied.

Either way, it's all in good spirits :waxing:

Just to edit...

I had no idea this was a "scam". I thought it was a legitimate offer that was just being passed on. I had to run to Home Depot today and stumbled over the coupon before I ran out.

Well according to one person, it is an altered coupon and a scam. This was just a scan of the actual coupon; the scam part that has come up is using it when it's not an actual print but a print off the internet; it's one of those "while your purchasing, might as well try it out"
