Hi 123456789,

If you use the proper towels and all the dirt and grime are off your car, you shouldn't have any scratching issues while drying. The thing is not all waffle weaves are made alike. Make sure to use a quality ww drying towel (I personally like Pakshak's). And of course, don't rub too hard. It's not necessary. I'd rather go over the car two or three times lightly than once roughly.

Alternatively, some people like to use leaf blowers.

If you get the car clean during the wash (all abrasive dirt off the paint), work in a clean environment (so no new dirt gets on the car), and use a soft drying media, then nothing should cause any marring when you dry.

As noted, some WWs are better/softer than others and a light touch is always safest.

I blow most of the water off with an AirWand (fancy leaf blower gizmo) and then finish up with soft WWs.

Blotting with towels is better than wiping with them, especially if there *is* some dirt on the paint and/or the drying media isn't all that soft, but I never find blotting to be all the practically workable, especially on large vehicles.

The only problems I had with the Absorber/etc. were a) no nap means that if there *is* dirt on there it'll get ground into the paint, causing marring and b) it always left just a little water on the panels so I had to go over it again with something else anyhow.
