First i would like to thank everyone for all the great information that i have already discovered by reading this site.

First off i have a 03 flame red srt-4 (i don't have any pictures), the paint is in fair condition for having 65,xxx miles. there are minor to moderate swirls in the paint.

Would this process be a start to making it look better:

#83

#80

#82

NXT x2 and possible a coat of #26

i figured the meg. products would be a good start for me beings that i can get them locally. i would be exploring in the future and using other products.

I would be using a PC to apply this

As far as pads go i have come to the conclusion that the OC pads are widely used on here. How many of pads of each type would you suggest for this process?

Any input would be very helpful

Thanks

Zack

Well, by "OC" pads i think you meant LC pads, so of thats the case, try using the 6.5 inch DA pads found here . . .

Dual Action Deluxe Foam Pad Kit

Not a bad starter kit. Goves you all three levels of polishing pads, a good backin plate and some bonnets to play around with . . .:xyxthumbs

also, autogeeks gift certiufictaes are on sale 100 bucks and over. its basically free money. get a 100 dollar GC for 75 bucks . . . you just buy the GC for yourself (which you can do . .)

you could get a few extra goodies while you there.:think2

before anything (you probably knew this but you didnt list it . .) - clay your car. then...

Try 82 first. The 83 is designed to remove what the 82 cannot (per mg website product description)- least agressive product/pad combo first on one panal of car to determine results, and to see if your inducing any marring . . if you yeild no results with the 82 on a white pad, try using an orange pad. still nothing ? bump up to the 83 DACP with an orange pad. Nohting ? Try 83 DACP with a yellow. If you get no defect removal with that , you will need a more agressive compound. Use the 80 last, since it is a finishing glaze, with a white (fine polish) or dark gray(finishing) pad. NXT can be layered . . . might want to wait for some MG users to chime in here however ... i only use 26 in paste form and havent really used NXT, nor have i layered it or topped it. could nto tell you if you need to wait for cure time for the nxt either . .Great product though . . .lots of good vibes about it here.

good luck . . .;)

edge pads are also a nice option, twice the pad for the money (they are dual sided), and quick change adapter eliminates the need for a backing plate and taking time to center the pad. I personally use lake country.

some other things to consider . . .
