95 Grand Prix & 02 ZR2
I would just like to say "HI" to everyone. I'm starting to "REBUILD" my detailing product collection. I've been detailing for about 7 years but was a simply detailer. I had the 100% cotton towels, my Craftsman Orbital Polisher, and Mothers 3 step products. and also my interior products. But now I'm thinking of steping it up and ordering a PC 7424 and some new detail products. I'll be detailing my Blue 1995 Grand Prix GTP and also my Black 2002 Blazer ZR2. So today I went on a Walmart shopping spree and pick somethings up. Heres what I got 16 Microtex Cleaning Towels @ 8 for $4.78, 4-2 pack Ultra Fine Waffle Weave Microfiber Kitchen Towels @ 2 for $2.96, Microtex 8" wash pad @ $3.74, Microtex Micro Fiber Detailing Clothes @ 25 for $9.93, And some Distilled White Vinegar @ $1.28. I'll be ordering my PC soon.Heres a few pics.

So far so good, but be careful with those towels, they are decent but after a few washes they get abrasive. As for the WW towels, don't wipe dry the paint, they will swirl the paint from my experience. You can 'blot' dry the vehicle instead. Good luck!

Ok so what should I use to wipe dry my paint?I thought the WW were the best thing to use.

WW are your best bet but the Mainstay ones swirled my paint when I used them. They will work if you just blot them but I wouldn't suggest wiping the paint with them. I would suggest in investing some quality microfibers because you can get the paint looking great with polishing but using a cheap towel could ruin the finish that you are looking for. It's cheap insurance really.

What should I get for swirl removal. I was thinking Poorboys and maybe some Yellow LC pads. I seen somewhere the GM has a hard CC, is this true?

Your on target there....you can get by no problem with the SSR2.5 and SSR1

With a good cutting pad you can work wonders on about any painted surface

Ok great now I'm more worried about the black ZR2 it has LOTS OF SWIRLS and some SCRATCHES what should I buy. I plan also doing the Grand Prix this summer and It also has swrils and some light scratches and I don't think it has ever been fully detailed before. So I want to get every thing at once. Like I said above I'm thinking Poorboy products and LC pads.I'm thinking here (correct me if i'm wrong) full clay job, Poorboy's SSR2.5 with a LC Yellow Pad, Poorboy's Polish with Carnauba (Blue) with LC White Pad, Natty's Wax(Blue) with LC Blue Pad, Poorboy's EX Sealant with LC Blue Pad. Would anyone change anything here?? I'm looking for both my auto to shine and have that "wet" look. Please educate me on this!
