ok im getting ready to do my first "real" detail on my red corvette, could someone walk me through the steps/process and in which order i should do them. P.S.- i am planing on doing everything from claying, SMR and finishing with souveran.:) Thanks- Ja

CuriousJa - Before someone yells "DO A SEARCH", or "READ THE E-BOOK", I'll give you a thumbnail sketch.

Wash, clay while washing.

Use DACP/SMR/something as required to remove marring.

Use GEPC/VM/AIO/something as a prep/base for the Souveran.

Apply Souveran.

I always put my C5 up on jackstands when I washed/detailed it. It was easier to do the lower areas that way. Don't forget to raise/lower the lights to do the headlight buckets.

thanks Accumlator, thats exactly the sort of answer i was hoping for :-). ive always washed/waxed my cars with over the counter products, never done a clay etc. as i never knew there was so much i could be doing. so i wanna start doing it "right' with the vette i just bought. also, does anyone have opinions/preferences as to what TYPE of products (not brands) regarding the...DACP/SMR or GEPC/VM/AIO? any help will be appreciated. Thanks- Ja

i hope my last post makes sense or doesnt run on, im having a Memorial Day picnic here and weve been putting a pretty good dent in the dark beer stash. lol Thanks Again- Ja

DACP/SMR depends on how much damage you need to fix. GEPC/VM/AIO/glaze/etc depends partially on what you want underneath the Souveran since they're all a little different.
