My brain is going south from so much research.
I'm in the middle of a mini-restoration on a 1985 Porsche 911 convertable and have used a white 1991 Range Rover and black 1997 Tahoe as learning vehicles for detailing. I'll do more newbie posts for beginners when I get close to completion.

I have read so much on BLACK vinyl, rubber trim and tires I can't determine what to get. I also have read a lot on silicon and petroleum issues. Generally I like a two step process; clean and protect. BUT I don't want to buy tons of different products (unless really effective).
Important criteria; It needs to last as I rarely do this.
Here is where I am.
Tires - I got Meguair Endurence Tire Gel. Should I use it directly after cleaning or prep with Black Again or Forever Black ? 303 ? Other ? Whatever I do will soak over night between steps.
Rubber trim - Should I use same process as Tires ?
Black Trim - The Range Rover has black plastic and painted trim, now with white residue from paint polish/wax. I would like something to clean, blacken, and protect.
Also, I plan to get 303 Aerospace for the vinyl window on convertable but hear it streaks on outside trim, maybe usable as prep on tires.
I just checked and found some old "Eagle One Wet Black Trim Restorer" (Teflon)that I have used on vinyl roof section of Range Rover with good/lasting results.
Suggestions ?
(prefer locally available at Napa, etc.)
