Here's the deal, boys and girls.
03 F150 - black. Very shiny - has Zaino and a bunch of scratches that can only be seen if I shine a 500 watt light on it (you cannot feel them with a fingernail). Also has some swirls that can be seen in the bright sunlight.
I have a PC7424, CMA orange pads, Menzerna IP and FP. I also have 3M PII FCRC - and some MCRC and some SMR for dark paint. Wiping stuff off with MF towels.
I can get the swirlies out with the IP or the FCRC - no problem. The FP removes any haze just fine. I cannot make the straight line scratches go away, and whats worse, I've seen the MF towels add new ones - even if I try to wipe gently! I cannot believe the paint is that soft, the red honda doesn't have the scratches and it's a year older. Cannot figure where I'm going wrong. I want this thing mirror-like under the bright light.
How many times do I need to polish these suckers with the IP? Should I try DACP? I've tried more polish, less polish, polish it till it's almost all gone, etc. Do I simply need to be more patient and work it more times?
Assuming I ever get the paint the way I want it, I need to know what polymer I should put on it that I can top with Souveran so it it both protected and has that deep black glow.
HELP!
Thanks.
