Hey Autopians!

Been lurking for the past few weeks since I took delivery of my new Mini Cooper S. I want to keep it as clean as possible. Decided that the Klasse twins would meet my needs/habits the best. Here's my Mini after AIO+SGx2. We had some rain and nasty weather that dirtied it up a bit. Performed a 15 minute quick detail last night followed by a Sonus topper. Once I get to SG coat #3, I hope to top with P21S. Then, lather, rinse and repeat. Hopefully without as much effort. Here's a pic...more to follow soon.

Derek

P.S. I've owned the car for about 2-3 weeks and I've washed it 3 times already with one quick detail thrown in for good measure... I'm on my way towards obsession :o

Great , clean look! Awesome job! Yupp, you will become obsessive in keeping the car atleast clean if not OPTICALLY FLAWLESS. Very, very informative site. Welcome aboard.

i have to chime in, i been reading the site 2-3 weeks before i actually signed up (hence the low post count) and probably read up over 400+ threads. yes im obsessed with my cars being clean. so im on my way to being a autopian.

and btw very nice mini. it's a sad thing though, earlier tonight my friend had just totalled his silver mini cooper S.

it was also on its way to be an autopian vehicle, but that 6 month old mini cooper is now going to R.I.P.

I picked up a new honda element about 3 weeks ago, have 2 washes in and a serious detail. I've been QD'ing a few times a week, and have been buying product like crazy. Its been fun so far! Gorgerous mini, the Element is my wife's car and in a year or two, my car is going to be the mini. Let me know how you like it.

Thanks everyone. I've been having a blast with it. Trying to be good and stick to the recommended 4500 RPMs < 95 mph for the first 1200 miles. It's been really difficult. Turns out 4500 RPMs is about 110 mph. Funny, while driving the car home the first time 4500 RPMs was ~95 mph. Hmmm. Anyway, the thing really does handle like a go-kart. 20 mph turns at around 50 without pushing it and all that.

I just hope I can avoid piling up the speeding tickets. I've just gotten the last few off of my record and my insurance came back down out of the stratosphere.

BTW, I'll post more of the closeup/reflection pictures this weekend. Hopefully. Just haven't had the time to get out and shoot it. Too busy driving :) Oops, I think I'm supposed to call it motoring now that I'm a Mini owner.

Great foto too

Thanks. Photo details: Mamiya RB67, Fuji Provia 100, warm polarizer, 1/30th @ f16.5. Had to erase my big ugly shadow from the foreground with Photoshop. Forgot a bunch of useful things like my light meter and self timer. It was 5:30 AM after all....
