If you want to use Megs, i would keep a bottle of #83 around, it will come in handy.



But you said, will this do for now. The answer is always no, no matter of you have a 2 car garage filled with products :)
 
That looks like a very nice kit. I actually just ordered those very same pads for my rotary. They seem to be top notch, and very beginner friendly since they make sure you apply even pressure.



Like JBM said, #80 will get you started but you will end up needing a couple more products than just that one alone. I always like to clay before polishing, so I would definitely look into that, but you can buy it locally with no problem. The question of whether #80 will be enough or not all depends on the condition of your paint (again like JBM said). What will you use after #80 for protection?
 
well my paint is in pretty good condition ive been detailing it and all by hand im just ready to step up to take out some minor swirls i have to get it as best looking as i can thanks.

yes its been clayed polished by hand with #80topped with VM>EX>Souveran

Oh shoot, you already have the best products. Just get the PC with some good pads, and be ready to be amazed. You are going to be surprised at how different #80 is going to act by machine.

It's like the time the lady asked her husband, "How much of this stuff do you have?" And he said "More than I need, but not as much as I'd like."
 
Thats the kit I purchased. It should get you going just fine. Pads seem to be pretty good quality and I recvd mine in 4 days, well packaged and ready to go. Proper Auto Care has shown me very good service the times I have ordered from them.

what color pad use for #80 and what color for VM?thanks:o

Those Blue "Constant Pressure" foam backing will absorb unwanted â€Ëœoff-axisâ€â„¢ polishing motions (ideal for the inexperienced user)and should have won an award as innovation of the (detailer's) year or something

I would use the white pad for #80 and the red pad for VM. If #80/white pad doesn't get enough of the defects out, you can step up to the orange pad on the stubborn areas and then follow up with the white pad again.



For future maintenance washes, you can use a white pad with VM for a little extra *bite* and light swirl removal.



You can apply EX either by hand or with the red pad. I, personally, like applying everything by machine for a more even, thin layer but if you only have one red pad and you used it to apply VM then you will have to do it by hand. Both ways work well.
