NEWBIE just got a PC7427...

hey all.... i've always detail all my cars by hand.. but i recently bought a mr2 n the paint is hurt... so i decided to buy a PC 7427 buffer...

but here's a few question... which pads is for what w/all those curved edge??? n does these pads fits even tho they are 6.5"???


6� Urethane Backing Plate

Paradise 6 ½â€� Black-Curved Edge

Paradise 6 ½â€� White-Curved Edge

Paradise 6 ½â€� Orange-Curved Edge

Paradise 6 ½â€� Yellow-Curved Edge

can some one tell me if my steps are right..???

Congrats on the PC purchase

Quick run down least aggressive to most:
Black Finishing pad
White Polishing pad
Orange Lite Cut pad
Yellow Cutting pad
Yes they will fit the backing plate
The color and type of pad changes with each manufacturer (white is polishing for one mfg and could be a finishing pad for another)

Your process looks fine, you may want to wash a second time after claying depending on what technique you use.
So it would look like
Wash
clay
Wash
Polish
LSP

Your process sounds fine to me. Step 3 can actually comprise more than one step - meaning that you will be using several different polishes and pad combos, resulting in a multi-step polishing process. :)
