Newbie just getting started

Thank you all for your help, trust me i really need it! I just ordered some SSR1, AIO, Ex-p, and a some Nattys. Now tomorrow im going to order the MF's and the pad package at exceldetail. Cant wait to get it all in. Before i use the SSR1 and AIO do i need to let them sit for any amount of time before i put on the Ex-p? And do i need to put more then one coat of Natts on?
 
Nope, no need to wait. Just remember to take your time with the SSR1 because this is going to be the groundwork for the rest of the detail.



Apply EX-P immediately after AIO, but remember to wait at least 24 hours before topping it with Natty's. You may even want to do more than one coat of EX-P for best results, but again remember to wait 24 hours between coats.

I am so eager to learn, too. I was wondering: is there any advantage of applying the EX-P or any sealant for that matter, then wait the 24 hours for curing, BEFORE buffing it and adding another layer of sealant? Or should I just buff the sealant, then let it cure of 24 hours, and thereafter add the second sealant coat?

Some members here have done that with sealers (EX-P, SG, etc.) but I don't know if anyone has been able to definitely measure any difference. I usually just wait the time it states on the bottle: âہ“until the product hazes or 30 â€â€œ 60 minutes for a deeper shineâ€Â�. After I apply it with a finish pad Iâ€â„¢ll take a break or do something else for about ½ hour and then buff it off. When you use it leave one section or panel sit overnight and see if you notice any difference.



When I used to use âہ“Finish Firstâ€Â� it said to wait at least two hours, and sometimes I let it sit overnight, but never noticed any difference.
 
Honestly, I think you will get stellar results just claying, polishing with #80 and a polishing pad and #16 with a finishing pad or by hand. I'd go with Poorboy's EX w/carnauba if you prefer a sealant. If you feel you must use a glaze, AIO, Vanilla Moose or PB's Polish w/carnauba are all excellent.



When summer comes, use Pinnacle Souveran as your last step product.



Like others have pointed out, Excel Detail has great pad and MFs. Ranney at www.pakshak.com also has outstanding MFs and the orange hemless Viking MFs are a great towels you can purchase at AutoZone and other parts stores.
