Hi everyone!!

Ran across this site looking for products to keep the java black range rover clean. Great site and I am hooked! Just a weekend wash warrior trying to step up my game for the family cars!

Always bought a bunch of stuff from Auto Zone to clean the cars, but want to really get this black looking showroom new!

Want to know what to use and how and when to use it!!

Thanks

welcome: to DetailCity your right you will find a lot of info here. and great people to.

Welcome BlkRange.

Getting that black looking showroom new and keeping it looking showroom new...That ought to keep you busy for an hour or twenty. :)

Welcome from another Buckeye.

I spent 10 hours last thaw cleaning my two black cars and then this recent storm hit.

It took me 5 hours to drive from Mansfield to Medina last evening. My Ford Fusion stayed the course though. The cars in the ditch were AWD's and 4X4's. The drivers must have been overly-confident.

When's the next thaw?

I know the feeling Gloss, we have a black fusion as well and I swear its a mini 4x4 lol..
I will be using our fusion as my practice car when trying out the tips I learn here on DC for battling the black!!

Hope the thaw comes quick!

I used Mother's Reflections Car Wax and Reflections Top Coat.

That was applied in July when the car was new and the Tuxedo Black is still gorgeous when clean of winter grime.

Reflections Wax and Top Coat is my plan for spring too.

Have you heard any good things about Mickeys Paint Sealant on Brook Park Road, a friend of mine swears that they will protect out range rover

I don't know anybody who has used that service.

IMO, there is no such thing as a lifetime sealant.

Regular washings, UV deterioration, weather changes, rain, snow, sleet and salt will wear away any sealant applied to paint.

Another fault is that you can't clean your paint without removing the sealant. A clay bar or polish will remove the sealant (regardless of what they may preach) and your vehicle will need both if you drive it on a regular basis.

I suggest a good sealant product twice a year and a few wax layers in between and you'll have a nice looking vehicle.

they were trying to sell us on the Range Rover sealent Simoniz for 800 bucks they said it last 7 years!

It sounded to good to be true!

1) over priced
2) doubtful
3) As with most things in life if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. And is in this specific case.

With black paint and your stated goal of a showroom new finish a reqular polish (or perhaps glaze) will be on your menu. The polish would certainly remove the sealant as noted above. Besides in most cases, applying your lsp (sealant or wax) will be the easiest of your detailing chores.

Thanks Guys!! Gonna order my first products this week will post the list when I do.

My Range was hit this morning, front bumper cover scratched by a kid with no license and of course no insurance!

So I was hoping that I could have the bumper buffed out since there are no dents and all would be OK.....NOPE!

3 estimates later looks as if I am gonna be out of $500 bucks
