New, Zaino help please

I'm a new member here, but I've been a troll here for about a year. I have been using Zaino for about three years, and the results here with it have been about ten times as good as mine.

I have been using:

ZPC

Z1 (recently purchased ZFX, though not used yet)

Z2 pro

Z5 Pro (not used yet as this is my first order that I have gotten the purple stuff, all prev. orders were white/yellowish, so I assume it was not pro)

Z6

Z8

My question is this, should I be using a Carnuba, or other wax when I'm done applying my Zaino, or is the Z2, followed by Z8, enough for the depth and durability we all want?

My cars are ALL black, they look EXACTLY how I want them to, but I am soon going to undertake doing a few friends cars that I will assume they will not wash thier cars like I do, so they will need GREAT durability.

Thanks in advance, and, great community :2thumbs: .

Stick with the zaino range, no need to top with carnuba as it will only negate zainos best qualities. The products you are using are fine, but you may want to incorperate a clay bar unless you have already done so and not said so. This will aid in making zaino look its best as the paint will be prepped better, a RO will also help in prep which is the most important step to having paint look its best.

Finsih with Z2 not Z5 as Z2 gives a better look you can layer them Z5 then Z2 then z5 then Z2 etc but for best results end with Z2 then some Z8.

Do you use a machine to polish with ZPC? If not then I would rec using one.

Sorry, I put the products in order numerically......here is my process on my own cars.

Wash with Megs GC

Clay Bar with Megs QD as a lube

Wash with Dawn

ZPC with Cheapo RO (I own the Megs labeled PC, but I honestly get better results with my cheapo, maybe it's just in my head)

Z6 wipedown

Z1 (will no longer be using it, as I now have ZFX)

Z5, remove with MF bonnet on my Cheap RO

Z6 wipedown

Z5

Z6

Z2

Z6

Following Day

Z2

Z8

I don't know how ZPC is supposed to be used in this aspect but when I use Menzerna polishs I usually do my dawn wash after them. So you may want to change to the dawn wash after the use of ZPC. But knowing zaino you probs don't ahve to wash the zpc off.

Your process looks fine to me tho, you have any pics??

This was from a recent show, it was looking exceptionally wet.......

When I first started using it....

I've had good luck with ZPC by RO with an orange pad and very little product. No need to wash or for an ISO wiedown with ZPC.

If you can duplicate your work on your friend's vehicles, there will be no need to top with anything. There is no appreciable added protection and topping will mute the wonderful results presented in your pixs. The final appearance (carnuaba or non-topped Zaino) will depend on your friend desires and what look they like.

If your vehicle was any wetter the paint will drain off the vehicle!!! ;)

Nice Carbon-fiber hood, doors and the Neon in general. :xyxthumbs

Hey thanks guys, that really does mean a lot comming from people that do this for a living, and touch cars like Ferraris, Lambo's and such.

Thanks again guys.

Now as for my questions, I really just want to know if the Z will be durable enough for people that just wash thier cars, not really paying attention to keeping swirls off of it. I just want to know if I should add anything for added protection.

I would really like to keep thier cars looking good for up to 6 months without me doing anything......I am training my friends on proper QD'ing, and giving them a couple microfibers for in between washes.

Prep it good and the Z-5-2 will still be there in 6 months, and will most likely still be looking better than anything else would after 6 months of just standard washes and no QDs.

You were putting on multiple coats in one day without ZFX?

Can't believe I didn't notice that lol. You can't do mulitple layers in one day. Gotta wait 24hrs + before a second coat without the use of ZFX.

Just turn your friends on to Z7 and Z8. Washing with Z7 will add a little protection repair with each wash and QD'ing with Z8 (spray sealant) will maintain the protection almost indefinitely.

If they top with a carnuaba they will need a maintenence system compatible with the carnuaba. (i.e Pinnacle Crystal Mist or Werkstatt spray carnuaba).

Do not forget to demostrate proper washing technique to alleviate surface marring.

Hope this helps.

Yep. That's why I brought it up. Gotta love ZFX for letting us do multiple layers in a day.
