2013 is almost here I was woundering if you guys have any resolutions? Mine are

#1 increase prices

#2 cut down overhead to increase profit

#3 save alot more money and pay off debt

#4 Up sell

#5 let my buisness work for me not the other way around

raise prices, try to find better customers. that doesnt mean nicer cars, just means better quality customers. hoping to weed out the timewasters & lowballers & move foward from some old customers. there used to be something called loyalty but nowadays you gotta do whats best for you. people are more loyal to a price & they get way to comfortable. sorry fam (customers) i need a dam raise!

2013 will be a better year for ALL of us!! i just want to be happy! goodbye 2012! peace!!

Last year was slow for me, and having 2 schedule changes at my full time career at the Fire Department plus taking on another per diem position took a toll on my detailing venture.

For 2013, I want to do the following

*Revamp my pricing structure

*Get a website up and running

*Contacting and retaining my clientele (some skipped getting their car detailed due to the economy)

*Expanding my detailing venture.. I am close to retirement, so I want to set up my detail venture for the future.

*Get my son to work with me. He is getting on the FD this year and he's a good detailer in his own right.

Stop trying to help those who ask questions but fail to use the search feature or provide true information regarding their concern.

In most cases, "no pictures", no response.

What is wrong with folks sharing the brand of vehicle, the age, etc when they are seeking some factual help?

As those who know me, I have always been more than willing to share the education and knowledge I have gathered for over 50 years of this side of the automotive industry, just getting tired of not getting the needed facts or information to be able to provide some resolution to the concerns.

-live each day to the fullest

-establish myself as a presense in the Albany market

-attend more chats

-get my website and facebook pages running

-continue working tirelessly to achieve my goals

-become more efficient

-continue honing my skills

Double the size of my car sales lot (to 25 cars) and improve the quality of the cars/clients I detail for so I can decrease the number of cars I detail.

Got to raise prices a bit, no choice. Health insurance has more than doubled since Obama "Affordable" Health Care bill passed, costing me an extra $3000 a year in premiums vs 3 years ago, not going to eat that much money.

Other than that, just keep doing what I've been doing, I expect Opti-Coat jobs will continue to increase.

So you resolve to stay grumpy! I expect nothing less! :lol

And I agree with you 100%

I've been pretty good about NY resolutions every year, so this year I figured I'd really challenge myself. My resolution is to not buy anything I don't actually need. If there is a want I simply must have, I need to sell something I already have to pay for it.

The question is how to improve the quality of car/customer, therefore price paid per detail?

Good point/question, dfoxenger. People will pay for value. The question is how do you become more valuable to your customer.
