new vehicle sticker adhesive on wheels

RyansAutoDetail

Weekend Warrior
so i got my new car 2 weeks ago 2011 vw jetta sport and i guess they forgot to take some stickers off the wheels which did come off, however the adhesive is not coming off and ive tried most of whats in my detail bag with no success and not wanting to use any harsh products on new wheels .

what should i look at using ?

without causing any long term damage to the wheel ....

thanks :)

Remember to let the adhesive cleaner dwell for a decent amount of time, and do a bit of safe scraping. I bet a steam cleaner would come in handy in this situation in conjunction with it.

I have used Goo Gone successfully in the past.

Scrape as much as you can off with a razor, then maybe go back over it with some APC, maybe even some dentured alcohol or something

goo gone is definitely a good start, ive have had great success removing dealer logo decals with it. Also i have a friend that works at a dealership that gave me a container this stuff called " TEC 90 remove-all adhesive remover" by technicians choice that also works great and is safe on paint and other surfaces.

WD40 will remove many adhesives. As far as the razor blade goes I'd leave it in your shaver unless we're specifically talking about a plastic blade.

im going to try some goo gone i think i have some of that downstairs somewhere, thanks for the suggestions, all i know is its stickier than your average sticker adhesive thats for sure !
