New Vehicle-Help me pick the LSP

OK the new Honda is washed and dried and waiting for a little clay and polishing which I will do tonight.

I am still undecided on the LSP. Looking for ideas.

The color is Honda's NightHawk Black Pearl. If it were flat black, I would have the LSP selected, but now I am looking at the tiny flakes.

Here are a few of my products I am considersing:

Z2pro - haven't used it yet. Also have a sample of Z8 (zfx, z6, etc.)

FMJ - Looked great on my metallic graphite Xterra. So easy to apply!

WG - Looked nice when I used it on Flat black. Maybe over RMG?

EX or EXP - haven't used too often. Will it stain my trim?

DP sealant - looked great on red and blue. Not sure on the durability.

OCW - I have used more as a booster so far.

Since winter is coming I am a little reluctant to use my waxes, but here are my favorites:

Souveran - my favorite

CMW - Easy to apply by machine and very wet over RMG

Natty's Blue - Looked great but a little tougher to remove than the others.

Any opinions???

I can leave the vehicle in my garage for a few days and drive something else.

Now I am going to clay and remove those swirls the dealer's hack detailer created for me :furious:

Paul, the FMJ is incredible on the NBP. Give it a shot on a fender and pull it into the sun and you'll see what I mean.

You've got a great lineup of choices. You really can't go wrong with what you have. Some people might shake their heads over this one, but Z2 Pro topped with Natty's Blue looks simply stunning on black.

Natty's blue looks awesome on my black 05 WRX. It's getting cold in MA, so today I washed my car, applied FMJ by hand (X2 on hood, trunk and roof), and a coat of Natty's blue - Looks Great. Hopefully by next spring when I get a PC I'll start the year with clay, then machine polishing, then FMJ and finally a topper.

Tks for the suggestions and keep them coming.

So far I have finished part of the polishing with PO85RD and it is looking great.

I will finish polishing tmrw and maybe get a coat of ?????? on before Monday.

On metallic black my fave combos for looking deep wet black, with flake pop are.

VM and RMG, sealed with Wolfgang or EX-p, with Souvern x1, Nattys Blue x1 and then a coat of spit shined Souveran at least 24 hours apart.

Awesome combo! I maintain with OCW every two weeks or so after the wash. still looks as great as the day i put it on.

FMJ would probably be my first choice, incredibly easy to use and seems to be very durable. At 4 months on an Expidition (over AIO) it was still beading like crazy and when you would blast the sides with water, the beads would race down the panels. Plus, I don't think there is an easier sealant to use.

Z2, EX-P or DP's Sealant are also excellent on metallics and I'd rank the durability in order listed.

Well I spent a lot of time with the PC and a few 4" polishing pads to apply P085RD. I had to use some IP on a few of the more obvious dealer supplied swirls.

Well it came down to FMJ, WG and Z2pro. Z2pro was the only one I hadn't used so I was really considering it until I noticed my little vial of ZFX had become a solid lump and useless :furious:

So I will grab the FMJ and attached a 4" finishing pad to the PC and set the speed to 3. With that small pad I only had to touch up a couple of tough spots by hand. I have one coat on and will add another one tmrw night. I have 3/4 of a bottle of Menz. High Gloss Acrylic Shield that I will use after washes.

Time to move on to sealing the wheels, dressing the trim, etc.

I will get pics posted in a day or two.

Sorry for the delay on the pictures, but my wife had the camera with her on a trip and it rained...yadda yadda yadda...

The FMJ x2 worked out nicely. Sorry the pics aren't great.
