New Use for Dawn?

I did a fuel injector nozzle swap on one of our diesels yesterday and you always end up with a bit of spilled fuel which needs to be cleaned up. I typically use one of the orange based degreasers and that works well. For the heck of it, I mixed one TSP of Dawn in very hot water and dumped this mix in to my pressurized garden sprayer. I misted the entire warm engine compartment with this hot cleaning solution and let it sit for 5 minutes.

I'll tell ya, the engine compartment looks better when compared to any other "degreaser" I have used in the past. It is just spotlessly clean, no (diesel) odor and no residues. It looks great.

Cheap and effective! While I probably am not the first to do this, just thought I would share the experience.

it did a great job. Obvoiusly, this mix won't remove heavy grease and heavy oil deposits but for the garden-variety stuff we deal with 99% of the time, it's pretty smooth! :up

I was very surprised.

I'll have to try that. Thanks!

Surprisingly,I found that Dawn works well on dishes too. However, I usually have to clay first if the dishes sit too long:D

yeah, it's nice to come across something that doesn't require the purchase of new chemicals or tools !!
