I did a fuel injector nozzle swap on one of our diesels yesterday and you always end up with a bit of spilled fuel which needs to be cleaned up. I typically use one of the orange based degreasers and that works well. For the heck of it, I mixed one TSP of Dawn in very hot water and dumped this mix in to my pressurized garden sprayer. I misted the entire warm engine compartment with this hot cleaning solution and let it sit for 5 minutes.
I'll tell ya, the engine compartment looks better when compared to any other "degreaser" I have used in the past. It is just spotlessly clean, no (diesel) odor and no residues. It looks great.
Cheap and effective! While I probably am not the first to do this, just thought I would share the experience.
