New truck...how to wash the whole thing?

I just got my Toyota Tundra in December and have washed it a few times since. But the problem that is beginning to bug me is getting the "middle" of it washed (hood, windshield, etc.) since it is so big it's not possible to "reach" to the center area of the windshield and hood. The top of the truck is no problem with a stepstool, but a stepstool won't work for for the hood or windshield as all it does is make you higher off the ground (I wash windshield and hood from the sides). What is a good suggestion for doing the entire hood and windshield? currently, I am using a wash pole (Meguiar's) but I want to get my hands on those "unreachable" areas.

Kind of frustrated.

Thanks for any tips...

I don't quite understand how a stepstool will help you get the top, but won't help you reach the windshield and hood. Can you not just bend a little to get to the middle of the hood and windshield from the stool?? Maybe a little more clarification would help?

Maybe wash one half-side of the hood and windshield at a time??

I'm short so I use a step-ladder for just about everything and if I need to lean out across a roof or hood I use an extra mf towel under one hand to lean on the vehicle ... ofcourse I am extremely careful not to let the ladder tip, and my clothes are always devoid of anything that might scratch the paint (buttons, zippers, etc.). Normally, since I wash the hood, roof, and windshield as two or more sections, I can reach about halfway across from one side and then move to the other side to cover the rest.

Well jlift it sounds like your truck is just to big for you. I suggest that you take it back and get a smaller one. lol just joking! If the meg's pole is not working for you I don't know what to say. Other then a step stool I don't know what would get you any closer. When using the stool you have to be careful not to cause more harm than good. If you are having to lean over the truck make sure you don't have anything on that will scratch the paint like a zipper, belt, etc. A lot of the wash tools that I've seen with the poles attached use brushes. I would stay away from brushes when washing the paint. Maybe someone else will have an answer for you.

Check out the Meguiar’s Versa-Angle Ultra Plush Wash Mop. It might be just what you're looking for.
