New Toy!

Brought home a new toy last night. We drove to Indianapolis from St. Louis in our one way rented Mercury (not a bad ride, actually) and came back in a '04 MINI Cooper S.

Can't wait for the weekend....the "mods" begin! :D

Here we are at the dealership.

I taped up the front end to protect it from chips for the drive home. I will install Xpel this week. They thought I was a little nutz. But I figured you would understand.

Now "Pepper" as we have named it (after it's color, Pepper White), is safe home after its first wash. The black roof is swirled and needs a buff badly. I will get to that tomorrow.

Nice Pepper you've got there :D!!!! What are you going to do with that Copper and are you the man in the red sweater???

You've got WAY TOO MANY toys. Would you adopt me please? I promise to play nicely with the toys and only on the weekends. :bow

Yes, BradB's the man in the red sweater.

I bet the reason he's not replying in this thread is that he's having some serious bonding time with Pepper in the stable. :D

Something's wrong at your end then, bizzy928. He embedded the images here in this thread, and they even work for my pitiful 56k dialup connection.

If you thought that was a fun ride, try a 10" shod original, a 90o bend taken by applying the handbrake [ok that's enough nostalgia for one day]

I'm glad that BMW is such having success with their version. if you ever get a chance to drive a mini you'll see what all the "fun" is about

Wow, so many questions!

Yes, I got the car at Dreyer and Reinbold. They treated me right. I bought their because the dealer who is literally 1 mile from my house wanted to rip me for $500 over MSRP. That just digs me the wrong way. Plus they have $200 "fees" for this and that. I paid MSRP....period.

I got the Sport Package, Cold Package, Trip Computer, Dimming mirror and Rain Sensor. That's about it.

My mods already sitting in the basement are the Aero Grill and painted side skirts plus Mini Madness Intake.

After it gets broken in I would like to get it on the track but that will require new tires, not the run-flat all seasons that it came with. And I would be willing to adopt you, PAW, but I also need track tires for the Porsche and I would have no money left to feed you!:doh

I don't eat much. Peanut Butter & Jelly. An occasional pizza. Chocolate and oh, yeah beer! :bounce

Congrats Brad! You got that fast; my best buddy ordered her's the day the dealer told her you could start ordering 2004's and she is in "expectant" status so far. I think they told her early November. Wish I had known about the Indy deal, I could have helped her save $700! But MINI St. Louis was nice to us though, we test drove several cars on several occasions before she decided on exactly what she wanted. They knew her when she walked in the door.

I'm a bit envious, those cars are definitely fun to drive. Don't watch "The Italian Job" till you've got the mod's done, you will undoubtedly want to "motor."

Have a blast with Pepper!

Yes, MINI of St. Louis was very nice, most informative and I test drove many cars, many times. They just have this attitude about the $500 profit they want to make. I just wouldn't stand for it. I hate greed. For the $500 I saved I figured my Aero side skirts were free! Plus I got a huge deal on several more things I purchased like mats, hold down net, parcel shelf, etc. I'm a happy camper. :up

Congrats! This is my wife's new car...'04 Electric Blue with NAV, sport package, and winter package.

Paid MSRP. Been waiting since April. Want to have fun? Check out the Kelly Blue Book value online. We are at +$400 of what we paid for it!

What a great drive, eh! :up

Regards,

Charlie
