The 334 should work much better than the Ryobi. Don't recall the orbit radius of the 7424 (but I'm positive it's more than the Ryobi) so I'm not sure how the 334's 3/32" compares but the main thing is the power.

Ryobi â€â€œ 0.5 Amps = 60 Watts

334 â€â€œ 2.4 Amps = 288 Watts

7424 - 3.7 Amps = 444 Watts.

The 334 is almost five times as powerful as the Ryobi! With more than half the power of the 7424 I think there's a reasonable chance that it would be useable, especially if you use smaller pads.

It's unlikely to be efficient but it might get the job done, if you're not in a hurry.

IIRC from an earlier thread it appears that most people dedicate their machines to detailing and do not risk carryover from sanding, I certainly keep my polishing gear separate from my sanding equipment. You may want to disassemble the 334 and clean it really well before trying it on paint again. It might also me helpful to remove the vacuum shroud.

PC.
