New to me surface: Coating? Do nothing?

Guys, we picked up this leftover 2016 KTM this past weekend. The gas tank (cover) is plastic and done in a satin black finish which I think is going to show everything. I don`t know if I should leave it alone or try to protect it/coat it? I don`t want to alter the appearance, I don`t want to make it glossier or flat. I`ve got Carpro dlux, but it think that`s going to make it deeper black and probably add gloss. Any thoughts on this or just leave it alone?

We will polish and coat the white fairings. That`s straightforward. I think the windshield will need to be removed to polish scuffs and scrapes.

Thanks.

Don`t know but I love your new bike!

Partly the reason I hate matte finishes. I know some manufacturers make products aimed at matte finishes.

Yeah, I`m thinking about a satin wrap. These surfaces are getting marked up now and they show everything :(

I ended up coating the surfaces of this bike with some left over Duragloss coating. I laid it down pretty heavy. I can`t say it altered the appearance at all. The bike isn`t really ever in wet weather so I can comment on beading, etc. I used the Duragloss since I`ve found in previous applications it did nothing to alter the appearance of the surface - - for better or worse.
