This appears to be another great place for info. I just purchased my very first brand new car. 2006 Acura TL NightHawk Black Pearl, 5sp with Navi. I love the car. I started doing research on how to keep the car looking the best and thats how I found this site. I have already read a ton of posts. I live in the central Florida area. Nice to meet you all. Here is a pic of my pride and joy.

Welcome and congratulations on your new car!! Don't you just love that smell? I only wish it lasted longer. :)

Welcome...looks like you've got yourself a nice new ride there. This is definately the place to learn about taking good care of it. Lots of helpful people with lots of good advice.

I'm new here and an owner of a new black vehicle as well and let me just say...prepare to become overly picky about your black car. This place has turned me into a detailing freak! And I love it!!!

Welcome to the group.

I agree with Jen that is by far the best smell in the world, that no one has yet been able to duplicate...

Thanks everyone. I am already picky about the car. My wife is already on my butt. Does that make me a member:)

Sure you can duplicate it... It would just kill brain cells and blacken your lungs. Carpet glues and outgasing aren't the best vapors to be breathing in on a regular basis. I do love that new car smell though. I was disappointed when my new car didn't really have it, but I guess auto manufactuerers are trying to make new cars safer for hyper sensitive scent people by eliminating a lot of that odor. :(

Congrats on the new car and welcome to DC! Hopefully you didn't spend all your money on the car so that you have some left for polish and other products. :bigups

LOL I would say that is a definite yes! lol You will find plenty of support and empathy for your budding addiction here and get lots of tips and tricks for becoming even more so. But nobody ever got arrested for having an emmaculately detailed car so I say if someone has to have an addiciton this is the best one to have. :) Take care.

Welcome to DC from Indiana!
Lots of great information is available here to keep that new ride looking better than new. :howdy

Thanks again everyone for introducing your self. So far my kit includes megs nxt wash, the pacific MF kit from excel, clay magic, lamb skin mit, absorber, WW towel Cali water blade, Optium polish, 4*UPP, 4* ultimate gloss enhancer, and s100. Right now i have 2 coats of s100 on the car and som UGE inbetween. When I get a PC or steal I mean borrow one. I will use the OPT,Uppx2 and if Im feeling a little froggy maybe soe s100. But right now its to damn hot to spend all day in the garage. Oh yea Stoners invisable glass.

Personally S100 doesn't do anything for me, looks like a normal OTC wax. Grab some Souveran or Natty's Blue and your black will look incredibly deep and wet, Natty's Blue also has good durability for a xxxx. (xxxx -> ??, what, is n-u-b-a a dirty word LOL)

Congrats on your New Car. I see your on your way to many new products, IMHO PLEASE get rid of the California water blade there is always a chance of debris getting between the paint and the blade. This can ruin the whole fun of detailing and maintaining a perfect finish. Good Luck with your new hobby and always tell your wife you got products at 1/2 off

yeah, cookies or bread baking in the oven, or some good italian or cuban food cooking. :) Man, can you tell I'm hungry?? Lunch break! :)

I already put it away and went with the absorber placed on the heavy water spots followed by a WW. Thanks for the advice.
