New to Clearkote - Help me understand line-up

Hi guys

Did my first Clearkote detail last weekend using RMG and CMW (see sig for pics). I really liked the potential of these products and wouldnt mind doing one big detail incorporating all the CK products

Can someone help me understand where Yellow Moose and Vanilla Moose would fit in, or even if they are needed? Assume my cars have no swirls, just looking for wettest finish

Ive been doing some online searching but keep getting conflicting opinions. One user went in this order RMG, VMG, YMW, CMW. Scottwax commented he layered other carnaubas over CMW, and that is something id like to try layering my mega dollar Swissol Concorso as LSP after a plethora of CK goodness

Any help much appreciated

Hello!!

Sometimes things can be confusing on here some posts dont get replied to or concluded which can lead the last post asking or presenting the wrong or conflicting information!!

To be the best of my knowledge:

RED MOOSE MACHINE GLAZE (RMG): Glazing oils, no abrasives and its debateable if it has any cleaning power certantly not by hand.

VANILLA MOOSE HAND GLAZE (VM): Cleans the paintwork, fills inperfections has small abbrasives that may improve some defects on softpaint. Recently updated and offers improved protection.

YELLOW MOOSE CREME WAX (YMW): This darkens paint and gives it more depth, probably contains lots of fillers some places say this product contains cleaners.

CARNAUBA MOOSE WAX (CMW): Just an LSP to offer protection and looks.

MOOSE WAX: An all in one cleanerwax product. Cleans, seals and protects.

I used them in this order:

VM (more abrasive than RMG)

RMG

YCW (more of a pure glaze)

CMW

Some guys mix VM and RMG 50/50 for what they call Pink Moose (Scottwax started this) and it will save you one step in the process. Their products are very easy to use, but if you have no swirls I'd either skip the VM or use the Pink Moose mix...... VM does clean the finish up a bit with very mild abrasives.

sweet, thanks for the info guys, clear as day now

i think ill grab the VM and YMW for my next Clearkote detail

another question, do i let any products cure, or do i remove immediately after applying?

I apply them to the whole car and then buff them off..... it just works easier for me personally with that routine. Their stuff is pretty much "sun friendly" so I've never had a problem doing it that way.

I'm curious about the word "wax" in Vanilla Moose Wax-Hand Glaze. Does it have any kind of actual durability on its own?

Not a whole lot..... it leaves behind a little protection, but untopped it will be short lived. It really is more of a glaze than a wax, but it cleans stuff up pretty well with very mild abrasives and you can apply it to almost anything: paint, trim, glass, and rubber moldings.

It's pretty simple really.

Some do go VM - RMG and YCW. I've even used what I call chocolate moose.

Moose wax mixed in with above three by rotary.

What VM and RMG do is get the clarity absolutely spot on. Even after menzerna twins there can be some lack of true colour and sharpness of reflected images. They get the best out of each car's colour and make them wetter, richer and deeper

If I was going to use sealants with it, I would dab on Prime acrylic afterwards and leave for 30 mins at least, then spray jett on top or dab on the strongest chemical sealant I have

does VM fill up swirl or does it polish it?

Am I suppose to use polish pad or glaze pad with PC?

Can I go over it with trim (meaning I don't need to tape off trims)?

You can use both. Usually there are no swirls left on the car when I use them.

No need to tape. They are fantastic by machine at removing oxidation and fading and restoring natural colour.
