Hey everyone my name is Brian and new to the forum.... A little bit about me
1. How did you wind up at Autopia?
constant detailing questions on google usually took me here or Autogeek forum. So why not join it?
2. What do you like most about detailing?
RESULTS! having someone compliment the car you did and knowing that you did that!
3. What are your favorite products/processes and why?
Dressings because it always gives the cars tires or interior trim just stand out
4. What`s your dream car and why?
No specific vehicle but would say either an Audi or Benz. Both have gorgeous cars from the front ends to the rear
5. What`s the best thing you learned on Autopia?
Learned a lot about wet sanding OEM paint. Removing factory orange peel from reading other members threads.
6. What are some of your other hobbies and interests?
Hobbies include detailing my own car. Just bought a 2018 Mazda 6 Deep blue mica. Used to have a 05 Dakota and I can say both cars shine like mirrors. Apart from detailing, i like to just go out for a drive or taking my wife and kids out
7. Do you have any pets? If so, types, names, pics.
No Pets
8. Name three secret techniques that you think you should share to fellow Autopians.
Not much of a secret technique but been using magic eraser sprayed with glass cleaner to clean glass followed by microfiber towel. Works great and never get streaks!
and so claying while rinsing the vehicle; saves time and product
9. Where are you from and where do you live now?
Was born in San Diego Ca. Moved to Queens NY when I was a few months old lived there for like about 4 years then moved to IL and been here since
10. What was you first car and what got you interested in keeping cars perfect?
First car was an 05 Dakota St club cab. When I got it I was 17 and was currently going to an auto body program from school and just loved working on my truck and keeping it clean. Then eventually went to auto body school and got a job as a painter at an auto body shop and also sanded and buffed cars after painting and that`s where the detailing craze started or elevated I should say.
11. What motivates you to detail?
Having a clean car motivates me to keep it clean. Also seeing ALOT of nice cars embedded with swirls and scratches motivates me to maintain my car in pristine condition lol
12. Would you ever pay someone else to detail your car?
Yes to see what they excel on and to see what they do better than me and see what I can improve on as well.
13. Does detailing run in the family at all, or are you the only normal one?
Just me. Got a few cousins that are mechanics but other than that I`m the only one that details
14. What is your favorite part about detailing?
I would say waxing and seeing and feeling the slickness of the finish afterwards
15. If detailing is a hobby for you, would you like to do it full time, or do you feel that it would take the fun out of it?
Thought about opening up my own mobile detailing business and I do ask my self that question quite a lot. I do feel like it would take some fun out of it tbh
