New Shop Vac! Had to share this with everyone ...

Update: the new wet/dry HEPA filter I put on the RIDGID did the trick. Nothing escapes this filter. It was pricey at thirty bucks, but as mentioned it's cleanable and reusable. It also does double duty since you can use it for wet or dry cleanup. Good stuff. The RIDGID made quick work of the Menzerna dust layer in my garage.

I'm very happy you found a solution.

Doesn't mean I won't let you know if I'm going out to SLC in the next couple weeks for a beer or three! :woot2:

At least I no longer have to explain or worry about getting past airport security with a ShopVac! :nervous2:

Give me a shout, for sure. :)

Well, based partly on this thread and also on my own research I went out and bought the Shop Vac vacuum/blower yesterday at Lowe's for 99 dollars. All I can say is wow. I'm very impressed. The vacuum works great, as expected, but the blower is the real surprise. This thing out performs my 150 dollar gas powered Toro leaf blower that I purchased last year. I definitely recommend this product for anyone in the market for a new shop vac.

Damn so no more deal on this vac? I suppose I dont need it right now..

There's a 15% off sale at Lowes right now. The Vacuum is $84.15 (the one with the blower) and the smaller unit pictured earlier in the thread is $52.

I'm a total rookie when it comes to WetVac's, so I appreciate the added info. Got it now.. Sheesh, i'm thick sometimes.

I did head over to Home Despot today to get some new filters. They had a HEPA rated filter that is a combination wet/dry pickup filter. It's washable, too. Thirty bucks, but if it works as advertised, should be money well spent.

You aren't the only one. I still don't get what he means by putting a tube in the hose? Isn't the hose already a tube?

:har:

Hm I suppose I should have done more research. Now that the sale is back, it caught me by surprise and I haven't had sufficient time to look into wet shampoo washing etc. Should I go out and buy this vac? :wall
