New Shipment of Poorboy's + Free Day = Shiny Car

audiboy

Hail the power of Quattro
I woke up early(11:30) today to wash my car to get an early start on my day of detailing. I was hoping that the UPS guy would deliver my shipment around mid afternoon. He came at 5:30. So...I started the long process that took until 1:00 this morning. I decided to take pictures throughout the process since this was my first "real" detail. I also snapped some pics of my garage setup. I hope you are ready for one large picture story. Enjoy!

Here is the car after the wash waiting for its day at the spa.

I had a space cleared out in the cabinets for the new products.

As you can see, I took advantage of the sale at Sams Club.

After the wash, the claybar, the swirl remover, the polish, the sealant, and the coat of Natty's, here was the final product.

The pics didnt come out that good, because I dont have very good lighting in the garage....yes that includes the burnt out bulb. When I wake up today, I'll get her out in the sun and get some better shots. The paint looks wet and is very, very slick. She's so clean, I almost don't want to take her out of the garage now.

Here are the products I used in order that I used them:

Meguiars Deep Crystal Car Wash
Wolfgang Claybar with Shining Monkey QD as a lubricant
Poorboy's Trim Restorer
Meguiars #9 Swirl Remover
Poorboy's Polish w/Carnauba
Poorboy's EX-P Sealant
Poorboy's Natty Paste Wax

I am very pleased with the new products. Thank you Steve for your very helpful information and thank you Dwayne for your excellent sale!

So I am not the only one that waits for the UPS man, just to be let down. JK.
Looks very nice.
I am in Arkansas too. Which Sams did you find the MFs? I haven't had any luck, except for the blue packs.

NICE THREAD!! GOOD PICTURES. GREAT ORGANIZATION. EXCELLENT SHINE!!

make sure to reveiw and take pictures after the package, that i will send you, is recieved.

Re: I enjoyed the post and pics.

Looks good. Do you think there was any negative aspects of using pwc, exp and natties all one after each other without allowing time to cure?

Re: I enjoyed the post and pics.

pt91- i got the towels at the Sams Club in NLR. They had 4 full boxes left and were the only microfiber towels available.

cwcad- i will definately be sure to take some pictures after i get your shipment. thanks for the compliments.

seikoguy- thanks. i appreciate it.

wifehatescar- i didnt really see any negative aspects of not waiting. the paint improved dramatically after each step except for the last one. after the pwc and exp i waited about an hour before buffing each off. i know this isnt a lot of time, but its all i had if i wanted to sleep at all. after natty's it lost a little slickness but the paint looked more dark and rich than before. that is a tradeoff that im completely happy with. thanks for the compliments.

So if 11:30 is early to you, what time do you normally get up? :lol

i usually dont get home from work until 12 or 1am and usually sleep until 10 on the weekdays. on the weekends, im usually in bed until 2 or 3pm. yesterday was a holiday for me(military gets all national holidays off) and i got the day off and thus, treated it like a weekend.

got up this morning and took some pics. there was a little dust on the car, so i grabbed a mf and took care of that problem quickly. i used Shining Monkey No Spitting Tire Shine on the tires. it produces a medium shine, which i am very fond of.

those garage pics dont do it justice... the cars finsh is reflecting everything on the ceilings and sucj and to my eye made it seem mediocre until.... i saw the pics outside.. that reflection of u're neighbor's house is deep...awesome...

how did u like the shiney monkey tire dressing. ive been meaning for the longest to try it, for its claim of no spitting, but havent. is it solvent based? how does it last, ect...

great job. i wish i had a garage to use, my garage is a home for junk... :(
im pretty sure if i had one id be at it all night...

thanks...thats my house by the way..lol. i just took the pic at an angle.

the tire shine is awesome. it comes in a spray can. sprays on really easily and all you have to do is wipe of the overspray that gets on the wheel. it lasts a pretty long time, id say anywhere between a week and two weeks, depending on the weather. it doesnt produce a brilliant shine, which is why i bought it. it makes the tire look like its brand new.

overall im pretty happy with the results. thanks for the compliments.

the first picture were of a nature that it had to be assumed that a good job was done. the morning pictures that you posted justified my assumption.

the stark nature of the tree is accentuated by the deep brilliance of the mirror like shine. i am impressed!!

do u know if its solvent based or water based? do u get little overspray dots all over the car like u do with mslt?

o and i just noticed that the purple bottle of meg's endurance looks like everyone elses... full!

joyriide113-- i honestly dont know if its solvent based. i havent noticed any overspray on the body and i have never seen any sling. whatever it is, its some good stuff.
