New Sealant

I`m running low on Blackfire W.D. and I`m looking for a new sealant.

Any suggestions?

I was looking into Jescar Power Lock (the old Menzerna Power Lock). Good stuff?

Thanks!
Dan

Menserna Power Lock is AWESOME, did a Corrvette and the customer called me up while it was raining and he could believe the rain was hit the hood and fly off of it, glad i sealed his windshield

I say order both PL and BFWD. You will miss the BFWD when it`s gone. In judging by sealant use it is still one of the forum`s favorite sealants. I have not used Menz PL but I`ve never been disappointed with and Menzerna product I have used.

Regulars here know that I`m just all about the FK1000P, but its look won`t please everybody especially on certain colors.

Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection. It`s my favorite, and KillerWheels` favorite. It`s shine is awesome.

I`ve been using that on the S8 since forever, looks great and is just *SO* slick.

BUT...IME it offers basically zero protection against etching from bugs/birds, as in...get out the compound by the time you get home from a roadtrip.

Sure not hating on it, just sayin`.....

I`ve got several I like fk1000p menzerna power lock bfwdafpp wgdgps. I have not tried proxy but have heard several good bout it

The Wolfgang sealant (WGDGPS) is made by and/or co-created by Menzerna USA, now called Jescar. It has a great carnauba look. I have a friend that loves the Jescar sealant. Either way, it`s a win.

I`ve been using the Gyeon Wetcoat for about the last year on the Mazda3 and love it. Seems to last about 3 months on a DD that`s outside in Florida 24/7. Easy, simple and fast to apply(Maybe take 10 minutes to do the car after washing).

If you`re looking for something that looks more like a carnuba then I would go with the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant.

Love Wolfgang sealant only problem is that 12 hour cure time.

I too finally ran out of my 16oz Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant that lasted me about 12 years on two garage queens. I was reluctant to pay the price for a replacement bottle that might outlive me, so I found a good deal on the Jescar Power Lock and grabbed it. I used Menzerna`s Full Molecular Jacket (FMJ) and liked it before the Blackfire, so I`m confident the Power Lock will satisfy me.

[Four Star Sealant]

Accum, a coat of just about any carnauba wax on top of sealant helps with this, right? I`ve also noted that FRESH wax is a big help with etching.

Beats me as I`ve never topped it. I`d *guess* that it`d solve the problem as long as you used the right carnauba. But then IMO that`d counter most of the benefits from using UPP in the first place.

Like, I wouldn`t try Souveran for that.

I have used Powerlock for the past several years with no complaints at all. I leaves a great finish and really last. You will no be disappointed.

IMO, 4*UPP`s shine is significantly more impressive than Powerlock.
I go for the shine, more so than the protection.

What color is the car?

UPP *does* sure look good! Rather carnauba-like but still just *superb* on colors like silver.

Though in direct contrast to EXPDetailing`s priorities, I`m pretty much *only* about protection, durability, and easy cleaning at this point. My only paint-related appearance concerns these days are related to avoidable/correctible marring.

My car is red. The Blackfire WD looked awesome. I may just go w that again...
