Finally got my new PC this week as well as my Sonus pads. Couldn't decide which pre-sealer polish to go with so I picked up some 3M Scratch remover locally. Our new Hyundai Veracruz has some fine scratches from poor dealer prep that I wanted to remove.

I decided to use the 3M Scratch remover with the Sonus Yellow cutting pad. I'm not sure if this is considered a light cutting pad or what but its their model 1 pad. I am delighted with my PC and Sonus pads. The Yellow with 3M is not too aggressive. In fact I had to keep going over the scratch areas several times before I got it all corrected. The finish even before a sealer looks great. I'm thinking the 3M scratch remover isn't very aggressive but with patience and persistence its getting the job done. the positive aspect of its mild behavior is that I dont have to worry much about damaging anything. I now understand what you guys are talking about when you say a PC is idiot proof......Its Awesome! If your into car detailing and don't have one what are you waiting for??

Tomorrow I will finish the Veracruz polish step and finish with the 3M Performance Finish since I found this locally as well. Its supposed to be a good sealer option and will due until I can determine which product line I go with. There are almost too many choices and one is better than the next!!!!

BTW, I'll take pictures when finished tomorrow assuming this rain will stop and I can get the Veracruz out of the garage.

Personally I would've started with the white pad sonus makes. At least I would've tried it. Try getting in the habit of trying the least aggressive product then moving up. Congrats on the purchase!

asleep, I have the white pad to and I understand what your saying about trying the minimum to get the job done. In this case I thought I'd do the Yellow then follow up with the white but the Yellow with this 3M product was mild and left a good finish. In fact it was almost too miled to get my scratches out....Took many attempts before I got 'em.

I agree with wannafbody, the white sonus SFX pad does not have enough bite for scratch removal. I used it with Menz FPII on an eight month old Lexus with spider webbing and light scratches and was disappointed with the results.

Eh, possible, I haven't used my sonus pads in a while and maybe my memory is skewed. I'll have to try again and see.
