New Paint?

best to ask the painter that did it

generally if it was air dried wait at least 6 weeks, if its catalized paint baked in a oven some folk wax straight away , but id be inclined to wait

you can safley use a glaze right away with out worry

I wouldn't go by the word of the painter, go by the word of the paint company.

Bottom line 30 to 90 days, and as I understand it that's taking the oven into account since that's the usual industry practice. The oven just kickstarts the curing process, it continues outgassing for months. Just a few days ago someone here posted about having problems with a repaint being too soft and swirling way too easy. It sounds like early waxing was the culprit. In that case the car was in the oven after painting.

Honestly, I don't recommend asking the painter. I made the huge mistake, a while ago, of taking my painter's advice to wax right away. He even told me to wax it as soon as I got home. The paint NEVER cured properly and was swirled really bad 100% of the time because everything scratched it. My recommendation...wait at least 1-3 months. Personally I wait 3 months. The backing process won't make the paint waxable right away either, unless it was baked with OEM factory paint and baked in the ovens they use on the assembly line.
