Hey guys, new guy here!
I've been sent over by www.roadsterchat.net. A great place to BS about everything and nothing..
Anyway, I just had my 1996 MX5 repainted black. Its a 2 step base/clearcoat paint.
I got it back 2 weeks ago, and haven't touched it yet. I washed it once, with a sponge and some turtlewax wash. Just this simple wash, with a new sponge seemed to give the car some light swirlies... bad news...
I am usually a pretty good and complete detailer, using a 3 step process on my cars old paint. The paint was pretty well oxidized, and had a good amount of swirlmarks and scratches in it.
I started with the Meguirs Scratch & Remover, then went to their Crystal Polish, then to the Gold Class Wax.
Gave me excellent results on that paint, and I was extremely happy with the results..
Now I have new paint, and have no idea what to do with it...
Any suggestions? How long should I wait to wax it? What products do you guys use on new paint? Anything I should stay away from?
What about application and removal products? I have always heard to use nothing but 100% cotton, but I've seen a lot of talk about Microfiber cloths here. Any advice?
Also, I haven't heard so much as one peep about Zaino products on this board, yet everywhere else they are touted as the end all detailing products.. whats the deal?
