New paint care tips?

My car just got a new paint job 2 days ago. The day I got my car back it was snowing so now it is really dirty. I would like to inspect their work but the car is so dirty I can't tell how it looks. How long should I wait to wash it?

I've heard not to high pressure wash it for 30 days, is that true? Can I hand wash it with low pressure?

Also what is good to dry it with, that will not scratch it?

Also if anyone has any other tips to keep the new paint looking good please let me know. (waxing, etc...)

Thanks!

·Newly re- painted vehicle- How long do you have to wait before you can polish or wax a newly painted vehicle surface? Paint is formulated with solvents (30-80% dependant upon manufacturer) once applied paint needs to dry and the solvents need to evaporate (off-gassing) to enable the paint to harden (cure) if the paint is covered with a wax or sealant it will arrest the outgas/cure process. The exception to this is the application of a glaze (3Mâ„¢ Perfect-It IIIâ„¢ Show Car Finishing Glaze) that contains a protective polymer that is completely safe for fresh paint, as it allows the solvents to evaporate (off-gassing)

Abrasive polish should be avoided until the paint has cured but vehicle washing is encouraged (avoiding harsh detergents or any car wash that uses a high-pressure spray or a wash that contains wax. and quick detailing sprays (QD) as they also contain wax)

~Hope this helps~

The paint will be a bit soft until it's cured, better wash/dry *very* carefully. You might check out my wash technique thread HERE

Some products that work well on fresh/uncured paint include Mothers Glaze, Meguiar's #3/#5/#7/#81, and 3M IHG.

But you gotta be *really* careful when you wash it....

Thanks for the tips accumulator. What type of wash mit do you reccomend? I really want to get it clean to check out their work.
