New Pads

I need to replace my pads for my PC. The old ones are the white, yellow and black from CMA. Are these still the popular choice?

I went to the CMA website and I didn't see the pads sold together. I believe when I bought them the last time I got them as a set. Do they sell them this way anymore?

My preferred pads are the relatively new Propel pads available here:

They are cheaper than any other pad, and work just as well. They also have a slightly recessed area on the back of the pad that makes for quick and easy centering on a 5" backing plate.

Yeah, those are still the workhorses, I tend to use more the white one now especially with NXT which is a cleaner wax, might as well remove some more swirls when waxing.

Excel detail has a pad kit with 5 pads that pretty much cover everything, a backing plate and 2 bonnets for a good price.

Guys, have you tried these pads w/ a 6" backing plate?

Patrick sent me some almost a year ago and I finally remembered to bring them for tomorrows detailing job.

I haven't tried them with a 6". I bought a 5" Propel plate to go along with the pads. I would imagine a 6" would cause some problems, since the recessed area on the back is only 5" in diameter. Some of the backing plate would not be connected, or the pad would be uneven.

Weird...i tried a 6 inch plate that I got from PAC, and it didn't fit as well as the 5 inch in the recessed area of the Propel pads.
