any pictures of the quantities of each wax you put in? Or a weight based recipe for us? I'm up for trying it ;)

I wonder if I will still be married if I use my wife's KitchenAid mixer to blend a super wax. I guess I can buy her a new mixer. Wes

I used a partially used jar of both Nattys and S100.
 
A couple of years ago, Edwin was using BF and Z2/5 mixed. I LOVED the combo. Wondering if anyone thought about a bf/upp combo, a upp/zaino combo, or maybe a zaino bf combo again? Inputs would be appreciated.

UPDATE: After almost 3 whole weeks, N100 has lasted through cool - cold temps and two days of heavy rain. Its slickness has diminished, and I feel that it is close to done. Time for a new coat!



How does it compare to using S100 or Nattys alone? Well, Its lasted longer than S100 alone, and its close to how long Nattys has lasted me in the past. I've found that most of the carnubas last around 3 to 4 weeks for ME....YMMV...



Was it worth it? As an experiment, yes. As for being better than something OTC or Boutique, its close enough to the same. I'd give the edge to using nattys alone, but N100 isn't too bad.

I was around back when that was all going on. I've mixed Z2 and Z5 (ZFX enabled) with positive results. Never did get in on the BF train because I heard too many negatives about it from members here at first ('old version' apparently had serious bonding and durability issues) and just never got around to it since. I've kind of changed my priorities with detailing since then: find a line of products that works in 90% of scenarios and stick to it.



I've now got a collection of polishes, compounds, etc. that are very good at what they do (from many different manufacturers, mind you... I didn't stick to all meguiars or poorboys or anything) as well as a collection of LSPs that give me the look I want on either dark (one combo) or light (different combo) paint finishes.



Though I'm always up for trying something different once in a while. :p

O4Cobra, have you had a chance to compare your hybrid with Pink Wax?

Not really. Applying coats of things on top of eachother does not force bonding between the different products' mollecular structures, whereas melting them and making one solid out of them does force such a bond. Therefore you're making sure each product's individual characteristics (solvent content, wax content, slickness, shine, etc.) are bonded DIRECTLY TO THE PAINT. This is going to achieve, as some of the reviews we've read in this thread state, a super-slick or super-shiny wax since it's like having 2-3 different first-coat products, not 2-3 topper coats.

The thread that never dies.... I wondered who resurrected this one ! You do realize of course that the "P16s will never be a hit due to the unavailability of one component... Maybe P26s... or PNATTYs .... I found a tin of mothers that was half full, but had fallen and the wax was in pieces. I thought about this thread and melted it back into a solid piece just a couple days ago! :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs
 
I'm so glad this thread was "revived!!" Best thread I've read. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. It also got me thinking. I couldn't help myself.......I got to tinkerring & mixed up my own recipe tonight. I even used some waxes I've never used. I call it "Serwaxalot's WAXAPALOOZA". Here's the recipe: Meg's #26,P21S,Blitz,Gold Class,Excite Paste Wax ( never used the Excite before ) Wolfgang and a splash of Meg's #7. I melted it using very low heat, stirring with a wooden spoon. It looked just like creamed corn in the sauce pan. The amount perfectly fit in the old "tin" ( not the plastic jar ) of Meg's #26. My "slow melt" method took roughly 20 minutes. No foul odors or flames! It's sitting in my frige cooling down. I won't be able to try out my new "SerWax" until the rain ends later this week. Should be interesting. :spot
