NEW Optimum Finish Polish

Anthony-so we can expect a hologram free finish using Optimum Finish with a finishing pad? I really like Ultrafina but you go through it pretty fast (need to use enough that there is some slight splatter on adjacent panels per the 3M video) and there are some minor dusting issues. How does OF compare in that regard?



I wasn't able to use either the new OC or OF on the Suburban today. The owner had a dentist appointment in the morning so I couldn't start until around 10 AM...and then he tells me he wants to leave by around 3-3:30 PM! The Suburban had been down at his ranch and through a lot of brush and quite honestly, to get it where I wanted to get it would have been at least a 2 day job, more likely 3. Quickie interior detail and ONR wash, OPS and OCW was what it got. :hairpull
 
I have not had the chance to test this on a dark vehicle in that regards.....it's habit that I always finish with an orbital.



There is little to no splatter.....especially when using the new LC kompressor pads:xyxthumbs



Ron used the finished Finish Polish today on a Lapis Blue Carrera and it turned out looking great....now we did perform a 2 step correction on this very same Carrera almost 2 months ago so it wasn't in horrible shape but the new Optimum FP did level out minor marring to a mirror finish using only the Flex orbital.



I hope to use it tomorrow in greater depth.

I hate to finish a rotary detail with an orbital, especially on soft paints, too often I end up with some buffer haze on the A pillars with a DA.



I have been able to get hologram free results on harder paints with the new Optimum Polish.

From not being able to remove the haze with the orbital or is the haze from the orbital itself?

From the combination of the action of the orbital and the fact they don't break down polishes as well. Mostly noticable on darker colors.
 
Anthony and I will be picking up a Black Porsche Turbo Turbo tomorrow. He should have a full report for you guys by the weekend.

Cut was like that of Ultrafina, FPII having perhaps slightly more cut but the longevity of these types of finishing polishes allows the end results to be nearly identical. Finished panels all looked great, to the point that you couldn't tell the difference between them.

So what's the benefit of OF over the others? Why not stick with FPII, for example?
