New NXT line

Don't know if you guys have noticed because I have seen any threads but the new NXT line of products have been popping up in Advance Auto Parts around nation. Anyone tested them out yet? Mine has gotten in a few recently and I was going to go pick them up tomorrow and test them out but was wondering if anyone has had a chance to use them already.

What's new? You mean the paste version?

If I see them, I'll grab some to check out, but probably not the paste. I find liquids much easier to use with the PC and NXT definitely works better via PC.

There are all new products for the NXT line coming out in 2005.

Here is a few of the new products available:

Theres tons of stuff.

The new NXT QD is prety good, I picked it up last week and used it over the weekend. It was below frezzing here for most of the weekend so I am waiting for it to reach at least the 50 degree mark before passing judgement on it.

So far so good.

I also picked up the interior QD, so far I really like it.

Oh yeah I think the Interior QD said it has goes on good to lift dust and provides the whole UV protection bit. Should be interesting for those of us who like to keep the interior clean almost every other day :D

Just what we need. Another QD. What is the difference between NXT Speed Detailer and the NXT Spray Wax?

NXT Spray Wax is just that, a spray wax which is used to boost the appearance of NXT by adding more protection. It is basically NXT Tech Wax in a spray bottle. It is applied via spray bottle but, it still has to be spread with an applicator, left to haze and then buffed off. It is not meant to be used as, nor will it work very well as a Quick Detailer.

So what would be the advantage of using NXT Spray wax instead of putting on another coat of NXT tech wax since both require to be spread with an applicator, left to haze and then buffed off?

I find it easy to apply and there is zero waiting before removing as opposed to the 30 minute or so for the NXT Tech Wax. I can do my RX330 in less than 20 minutes. It takes a few tries to develop a technique that makes it easy to use. I initially disliked the product until I learned how to use it. You must apply it very thin. It is not used like a QD even though it has a spray. It can be applied to a wet vehicle but I haven't tried it that way. I have good results by spraying directly on a foam applicator or a microfiber applicator. Thin is the key for both products.

If you or any other readers of this thread haven't already seen this, here is the link to some new 2005 products from Meg's.

I expect to see a lot of new products from most of the automotive product companies this year as they scramble to make their products conform to the CCAB requirements for VOC emissions.

None. Spray waxes are not as good in my book. Its a product made for the people who dont wax much or dont have time or just dont know the difference. I think its also less exspensive so im sure some of them think they are making out with the same thing.

I am starting to really like the NXT wax.

I can do my car in about 10 minutes, wipes off easy, and fills in the scratches from my abused daily driver.

Smells great, looks great, dont last very long, but i wax alot, so who cares. My wifes car is neglected alittle :), and i get a month of good looks, and at least 6 weeks of beading, so i guess its durability is "ok".

As far as the spray wax, i think it will have it place when it gets hot here in florida, and i dont want to "wax" the whole car every 2 weeks.

NXT is layerable. With one coat, i can see some scratches, with 3 coats they really disapear.

These are scratches and not swirls, just incase i was giving someone a heart attack :)

I thought nxt wax was a cleaner as well. Wouldnt that mean its not layerable.

I am relatively dissapointed about the NXT Paste wax/Sealant??. I called and was told by customer service that the properties are the same as for the liquid version. I had hoped the paste version would be more heavy duty concerning swirl hiding ,etc. NXT is a good product, but since hearing about a paste version, I thought there must be a significant improvement to justify such delay and "rollout" fanfare. Guess marketing types know how to get ones attention better than manufacturing types know to improve product line.

I realize this thread is a little old, but I have been curious eversince I originally read it. What is the differance you get by applying NXT by pc, versus applying it by hand? Also how do you apply NXT with a pc, do you just spread it out to a thin coating or do you work it in some. We recently bought a black car and I figured now was the time to break down and buy a pc. I have #80,NXT and of coarse #16 and looking for advice on applying the 3 on a black car. Oh, the pads I bought so far are megs polishing pads. Thanks :)
