hey guys/gals/folks! like a lot of newbs, i've been lurking around here for a bit before 'diving in...' so here's my "what do you think?" post.

So for my 02 black 4runner I was thinking:

dawn

clay

dawn

DACP (w/ yellow pad)

#9 (w/ white pad)

#7 (w/ white pad)

s100 (by hand, i guess...)

How does this sound? i have GC car wash and GC liquid wax as well...and from what i've searched on, I can't layer s100 over GC, right?

Thanks in advance, you all are swell :xyxthumbs

rightlane - what do you mean? which product are you suggesting i should switch out? the waxes?

if so, i agree...i'd like to snag some collinite, then top with s100 whenever i want it to really pop...

let me know, i'm intruiged as to what you would suggest...i love to learn!

thanks.

No need to jump in and go straight to sealants. I use s100 on my m3 and it's fine if you like to wax, i wax atleast once a month. If you don't think you can do that then maybe you should look into a good sealant. I found that s100 SEC followed by s100 carnuba looks great.

I am trying not to push a product. The point is if you are going to wash, clay, DACP with a PC then I suggest you use a polymer for it lasting protection. Then you can always top with s100 paste.

good luck

no no, perhaps my enthusiasm came across wrong :nixweiss but i was just curious for what you'd suggest. i'm intruiged by everyone's personal favorite combos.

and i'm not that much of a noob that i don't use the search function...that's *all* i've been doing for a few months now :D

thanks for your responses guys...anyone else?

phoenix808, in my view, it also depends on whether this car is garaged or not, and a daily driver or not. For me, with non-garaged daily-drivers, and with winter bearing down on me, polymer sealants are the way to go. :up Loved the Zaino protection on the white Jag last year, so I'm in the process of reapplying it for this winter. This year I'm also trying Klasse on the old Benz.

You mentioned that you've been married to the "search" function. (And hooray to you for that! :up ) So you've also read the articles in the "Learn" icon, right? They talk about the approach to polishing.

i most certainly did all the articles! thanks lynn :)

yea, i agree now that i should use a sealant. i've had the klasse twins as a "get later when money comes" sorta thing...cuz the products i listed above are what i just have now.

it's a daily driver, and here in cincy, although winters aren't atrocious, still get lots of salt on the road. looks like i need to invest in some sealant.

thanks all!
