Hi everyone. I've been lurking here for hours everyday (I'm on my laptop most of the day) learning way too many things from here so I figured I should join as well to participate/when I start having questions (just ordered a ton of things including a Porter Cable, Opti-seal, ONR, much more). I'm here to learn to properly take care of my 2010 black (<<< keyword) Nissan GTR after I still noticed some scratches and clear swirls after paying $200 for an ultimate detail (interior, hand wash, clay, polish, wax, sealant) from some professional detailers that had great reviews. They left some white residue over most of the car as well so it seems they rushed it, but the remaining scratches and swirls kept me up at night (and learning here). I think I'll practice on my dad's black Camry for starters though... :chuckle:
I will say the sheer number of options is overwhelming as I read hundreds of threads here trying to figure out what to buy. Also microfiber towels worry me the most as I scratched up my car with one when I first got it but going to invest in some high quality (Pakshak is what I read is preferred by many of the knowledgeable people here) ones now and learned from here to wash them separately (bought a specific detergent as well for them just to ensure it...) Those are just a few of the many things I've learned here already and always look for posts by Accumulator (better to have it dusty/dirty and wait to wash properly is some great advice that convinced me to never use that California car duster again) and Scottwax (I actually go to school in Arlington - UTA).
