New member and a new Challenger SRT8!

Greetings all. I have done the typical car wash and wax off and on over the years. Most of the last 5 years or so its a drive thru car wash and thats it for exterior. I had been leasing and wasnt overly concered about it.
Well that changed.
I have a new love,, actually its on order and hopefully I get it before the weather gets bad cause it will never see snow or rain.
Its a new 09 Hemi Orange Challenger SRT8.
This is my mid-life crisis kind of car, well not really. I am middle aged but I have been waiting years for the Challenger to come back.
I have been reading up and bought Klause sealant and wax from Autogeeks and used it on my Dakota. Im going to keep the 05 Dakota now that I paid it off and it will be the daily driver so I had to start taking better care of it. Anyway,, I need to go back and clay bar the truck but I liked the Klaus but I want to put the absolute best product I can on my Challenger. I am looking at the Wolfgang Fuzion or Pinnacle Souveran. Im leaning to the Fuzion due to the acrylic part that may add more protection to the cars paint on the road. Also while I have no problem waxing it every few months I am going to be honest with myself and admit Im not a wax it every month guy. I have no problem washing it and using the spritz after washing plus the wheels and interior.
Whats the consensus or opinion of the experts here,, Pinnacle or Wolfgang???:help:

First, welcome to DC.

Second, If I had to have a Dodge  the Challenger would be top on my list. :bigups

Got any pics?

Now about which wax to finish with. You won't find many who have used both Souveran and Fuzion so any opinions will probably be based on what the product says it does. I myself have not used Fuzion but I believe it to be the best paste wax out there from what I have seen & heard and based on what it consists of. So if price is not a deciding factor then I would go with Fuzion.

I think DetailCity.com carries it by the way.:D

BTW, Where are you located? If you are in a hotter climate then that would be another reason I would lean toward the Fuzion.

Sorry no pics since I dont have mine yet but there are plenty of pics out there. Im in Indiana and the car will be garage kept under a covercraft dustop cover when the weather is cold or when its not being driven, washed or just plain being stared at.
I dont mind spending a couple hours washing, spritzing, wheels and interior every week. I dont care what the price of the wax is compared to the car its a non issue.

First of all let me welcome you to Detail City. It is truly a great information source. As Troy said, many haven't used Fuzion yet. That would be my situation. I'm a real fan of Souveran and use it as my "go to" of the higher end waxes. It isn't a long lasting product, in fact it is pretty average in the durability category. If you detail your car frequently it won't be your primary concern or at least it isn't for me. The shine is very nice. That said, unless you have two identical paint jobs sitting side by side you likely won't see the difference between it an many other good products on the market. The price of a product may not be a determining factor for you and if this is the case by all means get some Souveran and try it. Next get some Fuzion and tell us what you think. If price is a consideration go get some Natty's. I've now tried all three, Natty's, Natty's Blue and Natty's Red. You certainly won't be disappointed with PoorBoys waxes.

Congrats on ordering you new ride, at first i was hoping to see a pic of it, but i can wait till you get it and have it all shine up! and also Welcome to DC !..........:welcome:

Since you are in an area that sees some cold weather, you might want to check the vehicle periodically when you have it covered. I used to cover my motorcycle until I noticed how much condensation there was on it under the cover. Might not happen in your case, but it wouldn't take much effort to check once in a while.

As an aside and just being nosy, (Tell me to buzz off if it's too nosy. :)), How much over MSRP did they stick you?
It was quite a bit when the car was first released, but I think things have calmed down a little by now.

I have an order in and a promised price $500 under MSRP. Of course that is yet to be seen. Im not even sure when the car is going to be here. Hopefully by Halloween. I just want to get it home before the snow hits.

Our Mustang is not a daily driver and is kept garaged and my choice is the Souveran. The more coats i have put on the deeper and wetter the car appears.

I broke down and bought the Fuzion. I also ordered some of the detail spritz. I did not see a need to order the sealant or polish enhancer since its brand new and will given a coat or 2 of fusion before I do any real driving in it. Not to mention a few bolt on under the hood goodies,, then off for the Corsa exhaust install.
I also got the DP Wheel special and DP Tire Gel.
My car is either in shipping or getting the hood decal put on so I should have it in less than 2 weeks. :yay

I would advise you to clay the car when you get it and then treat any flaws the paint may have and honestly I would not let the dealership detail it.

Me personally i ask the dealership to leave all wrapping up and call me when the mechanical checks have been completed and I wash and detail the car myself.
